Recent feature I just discovered - On a persons' steam profile you can see their name history (max. 10 results) and it's not stored locally like it was through the friends menu either.
Yet to see anything about this on here. The link can be found either on the right hand side where you'd view their screenshots, or a little down arrow next to their steam name.

I think it's kind of stupid that they don't appear to be in chronological order.

I always knew you could check the aliases someone had used by right clicking in your friends list, but I never knew how to do it this way. Thanks OP.
The maximum of 10 makes it kinda useless. When I heard of this feature I was hoping it would have every single name I've ever used saved, but then I was thoroughly disappointed to see it only went up to 10.
Oh well, still a nice feature.

If it exceeds the 10 namechange limit, then it's not there.

View aliases is local stored. Reinstall Steam on a new PC: View Aliases is emtpy. Check on Steam: Get a list of the 10 most recent names.
And it works for people you don't have on your friends list as well.

Useful sometimes when people don't use the same usernames for things.
Or when you want to find out who someone is if they change their name a lot.
