I played Civ V for about 5 hours and one day it decided to never work again. Whenever i try to press play, it said it was unavailable, so i uninstalled it to try and make it work. now it won't download and every time i press play it still says its unavailable. how do i make this work? steam support was useless (as usual)
What did Steam Support say?
If you don't act like a selfish 6 year old to them and do what they want you to do, they are actually rather helpful.
why does that matter they just said some solutions that didnt work go away

Are you sure you did the solutions correctly?
It would also be helpful if you posted the help logs.
You should really just submit a ticket to steam support and/or send an email, plus check the Civ V section on the steam forums for possible similar situations.
Also, this is the wrong forum section for this.

Wow you're nice.
Don't expect help if you act like a childish asshole.

Try this:
Right Click Civ V (Steam) - Properties - Set Launch Options - In the set launch options write the following without quotes "-window" - When in game set the game to the right screen resolution.
Have you tried deleting clientregistry.blob?
I couldn't start it after the last update. The solution was to start it in DX9 mode for and then back to DX11. For DX9 users it's the same but you choose DX11 instead.
