I never played MechWarrior as a child, but I know that a lot of Facepunch members get very nostalgic over the Mechwarrior series, so here is some scepticism towards the release of a new MechWarrior game.
The game will be set in the year 3015 on a planet called Deshler after the end of 'The Third Succession War'. The protagonist of the game is called Adrian, and you are training to be a MechWarrior, until your entire family is killed. Then you take training a little bit more seriously (possibly for revenge) and takes his place as the successor of the family throne (oh yes, your family are royalty), and begins to fight back against the rebels that killed him family.
Apparently the game has been in development since 2009; but a Facepunch thread search found no such entries, so it must of slipped under all of your radars. Wikipedia also suggests that it will be using Games for Windows Live as at least one of it's forms of DRM.
