VVVVVV is a retro styled 2D platformer by Terry Cavanagh, creator of dozens of free games. You play as the fearless leader of a team of dimension exploring scientists who inadvertently crash, and are separated. The game involves exploring the strange world you've found yourself in, and reuniting your friends.
VVVVVV explores one simple game mechanic: you cannot jump - instead, you reverse your own gravity at the press of a button. The game focuses on playing with this mechanic in a variety of interesting ways.
The game is designed not to artificially gate your progress. In VVVVVV there are no locks, no power-ups, no switches, nothing to stop you progressing except the challenges themselves.
FAQ
What are the Daily Deals?
On the 16th May 2011 Steam Announced the Daily Deals. Everyday a game will be put on sale for a much cheaper price than the full purchase.
Why did you make this thread?
I've noticed that the News Bot doesn't post about these daily deals. I'd thought it would be a great idea to make this thread so you can see if it's a good game, based on people's opinions*.
* = You must care about the opinions of the people on Facepunch.
How often will you update this list?
Every possible chance I can, which is daily.
Can I beg?
No, but trading is allowed. I don't want to turn this into a begging thread, I want real conversations about the game and how much/little fun people are having.
Is there a way I can help?
If you can make a dynamic image which will change everyday to the current Daily Deal then you would be so awesome. If you can't then posting about what you think of today's deal is also a big help.
Majesty looks pretty good. How is it?
For £2 I'd buy it anyway. It looks alright, if you are into the "Imperialism" strategy view.
I'm too afraid to buy normally :frown:
Found a video that shows the City Building/Tutorial.

Graphics aren't that great for 2009.
"More gold your MAJESTY"
Edit: great way to start a thread, on a game that no-one has played. :saddowns:
uh did we really have to create an entirely new thread for this
The news bot doesn't post about the daily deals so there's really nowhere to talk about them and if it's worth buying.
Why are you taking all my money, Steam? Why!?
I approve of this thread, I'll probably be asking for opinions on a lot of deals.
Starting now, how is Majesty 2 for a lover of Civilization but a hater of most RTS games? (Because I'm shit at them)
GGT?

Is one thread not enough for you?
The news bot likes to mess with me and it finally posts about today's Daily Deal.
Anyone who cares about the deals on steam will see the daily deal when they log on. This is kind of a dumb thread.

Moron. the thread is to talk about the deals and voice opinions as so noone gets suckered into a bad game with a good looking price tag.

Way to be an ass hole. I'm sure people will either make their own thread or look for the megathread.
You're going to get really bored updating this list everyday haha

Hey FP, I would like to get my loser son Majesty 2 for his birthday. He's been asking me all year long, and now is the right chance since it's on sale. Help me out guys. I told him video games would get him nowhere, but he doesn't listen.

Thanks FP!

The bulk of the daily sales are going to be crap or mediocre games, I don't know why people would expect otherwise. In truth this is probably Valve's attempt at selling games that no one wants and are therefor not worthy of a full weekend or midweek sale.
I wouldn't even expect something greatly popular to pop up on the daily deal, so if you're hoping to see Portal 2 or Shogun 2, you'll be waiting until a summer or weekend sale, sorry.
