Faction Changes - Alliance/Horde - Games

Yep that's right, the ability to change factions will be implemented in the near future. If that wasn't clear enough: Alliance -> Horde Horde -> Alliance [url=http://www.wow.com/2009/06/29/faction-changes-coming-to-the-world-of-warcraft/]WoW Insider article.[/url] [url=http://www.mmo-champion.com/index.php?topic=69505.0]MMO-Champion article.[/url] I think this is a good and bad idea, depending on the server you're on. It may cause massive rises in either sides population because of raiding guild on that side, which is never a good thing. On other servers where numbers are unequal, it may balance things out. I'll update this with more info as it comes in. Right now all we know is that it will "come soon" and will be on a PTR, not likely to be the current one, it seems like it needs to be heavily developed before the testing stage.

I'd rather have race change.

Not really a wow player, but I have played wow, wouldn't this mean learning other languages, or atleast orcish/common?

Can't you just go from 1-10 in your favorite starting zone (lets say durotar), then re-roll and do 10-20 in westfall, then considering 20-30 is boring on alliance, re roll horde and do it somewhere else. Much like the 'Character Re-customization' program.

Hmm... Thought they said they'd never do faction/race changes. Oh well, good news for me, half the idiots in my guild will probably switch to Alliance. Good riddance.

Indifferent to this. I won't be using it as I.m happy with my horde and allys characters as they are, although I may look into it if you can change your chars race to another within your own faction.

This is so much BS. But hey maybe I am wrong and it will be good for the game. But really I think this is taking it way to far.

Its a race change i think. So when your a gnome warlock you could change your race to any other one with warlocks. I wouldnt wanna see a gnome on horde side, i love to punt them.

I play on Stormreaver US. The server Hobbs plays on (fun fact, his DND says "I have turned off my tells. Thanks for watching. Guild is full") Once this happens EVERY SINGLE BLOOD ELF PALADIN WILL SWITCH TO HUMAN. Plus a few trade-chat faggots will probably switch, but that brings new ones...

I get the feeling imbalance will occur hardcore. I don't care if there is a fee on it, people get an orgasm over this, and people will be switching right, left and center..

I liked the idea of changing what you're character looked like, although I had hoped it would be ingame. but I could be wrong so I'll hold my concerns until the day it's released

I'd say you guys are overreacting slightly with this. Its obviously going to be a paid service and probably a reasonably expensive one at that so don't expect to see huge migrations anytime soon.
