Our story arc aims to explore human topics such as family, science, religion, politics, culture and history as well as shed light on existential themes such as fate, choice and free will, seen through the unfamiliar lens of individuals in a post humanist, post singularian alien society. NOWHERE was born out of a personal desire to make sense of the human condition through the pursuit of new experiences. We believe that games can relate wisdom; we are convinced that playing games can lead to new perspectives and better life decisions in a fun way. With NOWHERE we aim to contribute to this line of thought.
MEDIA: Screenshots from the Alpha: [T]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56154768/NOWHERE/Pics%20for%20FP%20thread/presskit/screenshots/alpha60.png[/T][T]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56154768/NOWHERE/Pics%20for%20FP%20thread/presskit/screenshots/alpha75.png[/T] [T]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56154768/NOWHERE/Pics%20for%20FP%20thread/presskit/screenshots/engine1.png[/T][T]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56154768/NOWHERE/Pics%20for%20FP%20thread/presskit/screenshots/engine2.png[/T] [T]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56154768/NOWHERE/Pics%20for%20FP%20thread/presskit/screenshots/engine3.png[/T][T]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56154768/NOWHERE/Pics%20for%20FP%20thread/presskit/screenshots/engine4.png[/T] [T]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56154768/NOWHERE/Pics%20for%20FP%20thread/presskit/screenshots/nowhere1.png[/T][T]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56154768/NOWHERE/Pics%20for%20FP%20thread/presskit/screenshots/nowhere2.png[/T] [T]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56154768/NOWHERE/Pics%20for%20FP%20thread/presskit/screenshots/nowhere3.png[/T][T]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56154768/NOWHERE/Pics%20for%20FP%20thread/presskit/screenshots/nowhere4.png[/T] Crowdfunding Video: Alpha Footage: Website: http://www.duangle.com/nowhere I personally think this game looks pretty interesting. Definitely thinking about picking up the alpha. Also if anyone can write a better OP than me it would be appreciated.
It's hard to see where the "survival, strategy, communication and adventure" come in, especially with a story, from just that spacey clay morph and paint video. I'm not risking the 20$ for early adoption on such a bold but teasing promise. [editline]25th September 2013[/editline] hell minecraft was full of much more likely promises and we all know how that turned out
A bold and interesting design, with a lot of elements I'm really interested to see work out -- but who are these people? Their site suggests the team is only two people -- an electronic musician and a painter, no less. The demo is really cool from those perspectives -- I particularly liked the procedural music / musical paintbrush effects -- but what they're biting off here is seriously enormous. That said, what they've created so far seems technically sound; I think it's fair to be skeptical but interested here.
I'm not exactly sure how this turns into gameplay opportunity. Playing with something isn't itself a gameplay mechanic so how does it move beyond what it is? what it is is fine but it's claiming to be much more.
I'm guessing the alpha video is just to show the morphing/surface algorithms they have. The full game sounds very neat, perhaps over-ambitious, but I really can't wrap my head around what it'll look like right now. I'm just gonna have to wait for them to give another demonstration or something.
I read an article about this and i could not understand anything about this. And i still don't. So can anyone explain what the hell is this and what is it about? Like, it says t's supposed to be an open world game about interaction and stuff, but all i see is some colorful objects floating in space... Also the FAQ on their website says it's not going to be multiplayer in which case i have no idea who'd want to play something like this...
Someone took some psychedelics and is now creating a game about it. Looks like a procedural game of life(survival, creativity, problem-solving, social, communal, etc.) based in a universe of blobs. Me gusta.
and then came Molyneux
