FAQ
What is Gnomoria?
Gnomoria is a sandbox village management game. You help a small group of gnomes start a new kingdom and survive as long as possible!
What games have inspired and influenced the development of Gnomoria?
I play all the games I can get my hands on and have time for. To some degree, they have all had an influence on me. For Gnomoria, the biggest influence has of course been Dwarf Fortress. There are also influences from Dungeon Keeper, the Settlers series, the Anno series, The Sims and even The Incredible Machine.
Can I record videos of Gnomoria and put them on YouTube?
Definitely!
Am I allowed to monetize my YouTube videos of Gnomoria?
Yes. Video creators should be able to benefit from their own work.
When did Gnomoria start development?
Development for Gnomoria started in July of 2011.
When will Gnomoria be released?
Gnomoria is currently in alpha and available for preorder with immediate access to alpha. The release date is TBD. I don’t plan on an indefinite, prolonged alpha period. When Gnomoria reaches the level of quality expected from a finished game, it will be released but far from finished. Given the opportunity, I plan on continuing support and offering free updates well after release.
On what platform will Gnomoria be available?
What are the minimum system requirements?
OS: Windows Xp, Vista, Win 7
Processor: 2.0 Ghz
Memory: 1GB
Hard Disk Space: 50MB
Video Card: 128mb Video Memory
DirectX®: 9.0c or Greater

So basically someone looked at Stonesense and decided to make an actual game out of it. This looks really cool, though.
title sounds like a really nasty std, but aside that, looks rad

Basically, it's everything Stonesense should've been from the get go.
Command UI looks sort of cluttered, I have click some 5-6 times to build a dirt wall?
Reminds me a lot of towns, except more polished perhaps. Bought it, will try it :)
This game actually has combat which is more or less the same as DF combat, give or take a few features.
Bad time to have no transferable money :( This looks fantastic.
Finally!
Been waiting for a Dwarf Fortress type game that looks great visually, and controls very well.
Tried the demo and it's very fun, going to buy now.
This is extremely fun.
Bought it on a whim, worth every cent.
Crashes a bit too often, though.
Balls wish I had money for this.
The only reason I have had difficulties getting into DF was the a bit too hard to use interface. Definitely buying this one.
We should have a steam group. That'd be awesome :D
How's the combat and the enemies in this? Is it detailed/fun/unique? A huge chunk of what makes DF fun is the combat.

It's really fun. You don't see any enemies at all in the beginning, but as you progress, you encounter tougher enemies. You can be jolly and happy one second, then the next second get overrun by Golems and get wiped out. Of course, you can prepare for those times and even prevent them, but you still gotta be on your guard.
Is there a traps/mechanics system like in Dorf Fort? That's another chunk of the fun.
And about the combat, is it detailed like DF? You know, missing limbs and whatnot.

Yes, there is traps. Lots of traps. Mechanics, too. There's not a lot of details. At least not like in DF.

No clicking, just mousing over the different commands. Very easy to navigate and intuitive.
This looks hella fun.
He should have just called it Mini Dwarf Fortress: Gnome Edition
Gnomes aren't as manly as dorfs.
This game is really fun. Just tried the demo and the fucker runs out just as I make a lovely dining room :smith:
I'm buying this thing tomorrow, it's brilliant!
Is the combat as in depth as DF's? Can individual limbs be ripped off with extreme detail and things like that?
Looks very reminiscent of Towns.
Graphics and Interface look great in my opinion. Hopefully it will be awesome to play and not to complex. Might pick this up, although I prefer to buy games when they are finished and not in Alpha.
In those 6 days, I didn't see one enemy. I did stay right area where I was building though, so maybe I was lucky.
The music is really bad thats for sure
Yes and it keeps looping over and over.
But again, it's just released.
I'm fond of the art though, it's really nice.

Nope, not at all. Not even close, just basic hack and slash.

Hey now, everyone knows Gnomes are the best. Also, finally a game with gnomes!
I am going to defiantly check this out.
Gonna preorder it because I've always wanted a Dwarf Fortress that I don't have to relearn each time I want to play.
It's funny seeing a Gnome get her arm chopped off then beat a Goblin to death with it.
I want this so bad :(
This looks pretty damn good, gonna give it a go I think.
