• HD PVR or capture card?

I want to start making commentaries, but i was wondering if i should get a HD PVR or a capture card. What are the differences? (User was banned for this post ("Choose for Me; this doesn't belong in this section anyway" - rilez))
You should specify bit more which capture card, there are tons of them. HD PVR can record high quality footage but it is expensive. Also, if your username indicates the year you were born, then you should not really bother, wait few years until your voice matures more.
Something like this capture card: http://www.roxio.com/enu/promotions/landing/machinima/game-capture/console/overview.html?AID=10905330&PID=1977440&source=gamecap_machinima_c_nl Should i buy that instead of a HD PVR, because it's cheaper? And is the quality about the same?
Most people either use a Huappage HD PVR or Blackmagic Intensity Pro cards, I've never seen that thing before but it looks like it'd be decent enough. The price on it is certainly great though since a Huappage costs about £125-175 and a Insensity Pro can be anywhere from £135-£160.
do pc gaming (relatively cheap) until you have a decent fanbase, then put some money into it and maybe get a partnership
Roxio http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ga2cdFPmlzk&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgcNdXkKSbI&feature=related HD PVR So yeah, the quality on HD PVR is vastly superior.
I just got a Huappage, and I love it.
swampie: my computer is not good at all. I can barely run minecraft.... I'd say it would be much cheaper to get a HD PVR, instead of a new computer... :)

Make some minecraft commentaries or something what has a very big fanbase. The fact about commentators are, there are more than hundreds of different commentators and only few are lucky enough to become popular. I'm using a Dazzle DVC 100 at the moment. It's external like the HD PVR, it doesn't do HD and there is occasional (but not overbearing) video bleeding but the quality is otherwise fine and it is easy to set up and use. Plus you could get it at £50, which is reasonable compared to a HD PVR which would set you back over £100 more. Perhaps start with the Dazzle and if you feel you'll do commentaries consistently upgrade? I'll PM you some Dazzle footage and a set up guide so you can see for yourself.
