Setting widescreen resolutions in GTA: San Andreas

Is this just impossible with the Steam version? I absolutely can't pick a widescreen resolution. They don't even show up as choices.

Specs that might help:

Nvidia GTX 460 SE
1600x900 resolution monitor.

You have to use a 4:3 resolution, but there's a setting called 'widescreen' in advanced options.

I looked at that list, and I'm not breaking any of those rules with this thread. It says nothing about "Don't make a thread if you're having an issue with a game."

You need to downgrade to 1.01.

I made a tool that does it by patching Steam's version down to 1.01 via binary differences, so it's legal.
