Hey guys, my buddies from uni are all going to have about 6-7 weeks off after exams over the next few weeks, and we really want to make some kind of cool megaproject, the only issue is we're stumped on ideas.
I come to you for help.
Guidelines:
-We'd prefer to do it legitimately, no spawning/hax etc unless utterly necessary.
-No castles, they're done to death and we're sick of them.
-No underwater cities, they're horrible to construct and again they're really overdone.
Facepunch, you have 6-7 weeks and a dedicated team of builders. What do you want created?

I suggested this and the guys seemed interested.

build a huge settlement ranging from inner city, all the way out to rural farming areas.
We're thinking of going with the tower idea, and making it circular.
Roughly 240x240, with 6 levels (each 20 blocks high) leaving about 4 levels leeway at the top and bottom.

I can also suggest having a river which flows on the inside perimeter from the top of the tower to the bottom. Each floor can have it's own branch to use for farms.

I plan to have all water originate at the top and cycle down/get reused on each level.

I've always wanted to build a large city with everything, a subway, sewers, water system, the works. Maybe that would be a cool project?
Build Facepunch, with sections like GD and GGD.
Good luck with the project. If you can get beyond the first stages where most projects die, I think this will turn out pretty interesting.

Progress so far on level one of the city. The central square is the main building on this level, the things coming out the sides are roads and that mass of black/green is the pine farm we built which has caused literally nothing but trouble. Those pine trees are infamous on the server.
I'd post screenshots but there's not much more to be shown than the bottom layer of the first city, we're flattening and clearing ground mainly (and filling in water). So far it's been great, I couldn't work on it much yesterday because I was sleeping (I pulled an allnighter to work on it)
We've got a fairly large team working on it now (5~ people) and it's looking schweeeeeeet. Thanks for the idea stopper <3
