I decided it could be a fun and engaging project for myself to create my own texture pack for Minecraft, and what better source for inspiration than Star Wars? I plan on changing every texture in game, minus fire, water and lava, using a variety of styles from both the Original Trilogy and the Prequels.
It's finished!

it looks fine but it just doesn't seem very star wars-y to me
Looks nice, but a tad too colourful in my opinion.
Just a bit.
But I LOVE the glass!
Absolutely great job so far.

Yeah, that's the problem so far, as a lot of what I remember Star Wars being is either Sand or Mud :v: I'm getting the terrain out the way, and this is also why I'm asking for suggestions to make it more Star Wars-y.
I agree with you about the cobblestone; try replacing it with the mossy-minus-moss stone. Other than that, it looks pretty nice. The grass might be a bit saturated, and the chest looks kind of dull. The glass is really neat.
I think the problem is that all of the Star Wars settings have distinctive looks to all elements of them, yet no planet has everything. Perhaps pick a couple of your ideal places and base everything off of that, rather than Star Wars in general.
Also, use Bacta canisters as some sort of food item, and replace the swords with lightsabers and vibroblades. :v:
Oh god using this texture pack would be like playing dark forces 2.

Good idea, I usually focus on Tatooine and Yavin when I think of designs for each block, so perhaps i'll focus on them, mostly.

That a good thing?
Ehy, the very first block on the top left has to be grey, because the grass changes dinamically colour and the color changes are based on a grey sprite.
Otherwise, star-wars or not, this looks nice.
Nice work with the sand
You're doing an awesome job, bro.
Swords should be lightsabers, obviously.

Only the diamond one should be.

I was going to make them Womp Rats... Perhaps the Creeper could be an Ewok?
On that note, could someone tell me the best method for leaves?

I can't think of any other sabre ish objects in Star Wars, so I planning on making them either different colours, or famous ones, like Darth Vader, Luke, Obi Wan etc.

You could use [url=http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Vibroblade]Vibroblades[/url] with different materials.
You should've named it Star Craft!
Oh wait...
But seriously, it's pretty good. How long did this take you so far?

This is what I was thinking aswell, for iron, ones, with wooden and stone ones just being various makeshift weapons.

A day and a half so far.

Yeah, I thinking I could use a Tusken Spear for wood, that Vibroblade for Iron and an Ewok spear/blade for stone.
It looks... decent, a bit of contrast issues, especially with the eye-raping grass.
Doesn't remind me of StarWars at all though, if you're going to make a look-alike pack, you should make it with the intention that all buildings are going to be based off StarWars.
IE: Make wood into a sort of metal, so you can build a ship with ease.
Most packs that are based off something are meant for you to build structures reminiscent of whatever they are representing. RomanCraft is meant to build columnal buildings and such.

And then diamond as the lightsaber? That would be cool, imo.
I'm contributing :v:

Some light-sabers- just paste 'em over swords.

But I don't want to do that. I don't want people to be knocking down trees and suddenly having metal. I'm doing the best I can to make it vaguely reminiscent but I'd also like to keep it Minecraftish in spirit.
I guess you could say it's more inspired by than a lookalike.

I'm definitely using this when it's done, it looks epic
Love the door, but I think the window should be more generic, I can't imagine wanting everything I build to look like the deathstar :v:

Good point, I'll look into it tomorrow.
[editline]3rd April 2011[/editline]
And going by what I said earlier, I'll use Tusken Raider influence for Wooden Tools, Ewok for Stone, Regular human or Bounty Hunter or whatever for Iron and Jedi for Diamond.
[editline]3rd April 2011[/editline]
And perhaps a Gonk Droid for a Record Player.
Looks awesome but god please make the grass less bright green, it burns my eyes. :barf:

Is it nicer in the new pictures? :v:
Skeletons as Stormtroopers feels a bit too out of character, their aim is too good.
I love the overgrown look on the grass blocks and trees.
Iron door, based on the door the Storm Troopers break down in the opening scene of Episode IV:

"Only Skeletons are so precise"
Aren't you a little too boney to be a trooper?
And it is really cool, but since there are so many different areas in minecraft and only so many blocks, its kinda hard for a universal star wars pack, still cool.
Also, if you made the nether like a moon or something, changed ghasts to tie fighters and pigmen to some sort of space jet fighter, I would climax right there.
