• Garry's Mod and every other Steam game will not start.

My first thread (when I only knew of GMod not working:) It was only several days ago that Garry's Mod (the latest version/update) was working normally. However, just recently I would click to start the game and it would show the normal "Preparing to launch Garry's Mod..." window - only to be almost imminently proceeded by a flicker of what I noticed as the "Garry's Mod" game window. I've verified the integrity of the game cache, I've defragmented the cache files, I've reinstalled the game, I've deleted all the addons - all with no response whatsoever. My specs for the Acer Aspire X5810: rocessor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8200 2.33GHz (4 CPUs) Memory: 4094MB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 11 Driver: Driver Name: NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 Oh, and I have Vista. Now: None of my other games will work. For example, when I start Counter-Strike: Source, the screen goes blank for several seconds and then puts my Steam window full-screen (remaining 'minimized.') Please help. Cheers. Is it only source games?
No, Football Manager won't start either.
Reinstall Steam.
Didn't work. I open GMod and the screen goes blank (similarly to the other games) and then it goes back to the steam window, which has now positioned itself in the bottom righthand corner of the desktop. Other ideas?
in Opposing Force, the screen is glitching. the "cursor" (gun scope basically) loads, sound effects and all, but the screen doesn't decide to load with it. In Counter Strike: Source, It's telling me I need consistency for scope_arc.vtf, even though I've reinstalled 4 times. Holy shit Valve just wants to screw with us all somehow, don't they?
Not sure if I'm ready to blame Valve yet, I have a fucking Acer PC!
wrong section go to steam support
I've tried. No response.
The main thing is that GMod and every other game was working until it just stopped randomly, spontaneously. I have no idea what caused it.
