The Extraordinary, Amazing, Terrific, Incredible Minecraft Editor, or "Tea Time" for short, is an inventory and data editor for Minecraft, written to combine the best features of INVedit and Loleditor, both good programs. It has been my personal project for the past few months, and it will likely remain so for a while. Here are some of its perks: It's cross platform - Most of the other editors are written in some derivative of C, and usually need .NET on Windows and don't really work on Mac/Linux. Tea Time's written in Java (and I made sure that each platform's MC directory should work), so it works on all Java-supporting platforms. If you can run Minecraft, you can probably run Tea Time. I haven't tested it in any Linux distribution yet, so please let me know how it runs in Linux if possible. It's portable - The entire program is less than 200kb, and like I said, you can run it on any Java-supporting computer. No virus reports, as far as I've seen. It's fast - It boots and loads world data very quickly, as opposed to other programs. Also has a ton of shortcuts for quick usage. It's compatible - Built to work fine with older versions of MC as well as new. It's customizable - Add new items and such with the included items.txt file. I'm going to add a GUI for this eventually. Changelog 1.0 Initial Release 1.1b Added time slider + search bar. 1.2 Added mouse scrolling on items for count/damage changes 1.3 - Fixed a bug with item counts - Added button link to latest version (check this in the about window) - Modified data loading - Modified "save as" availability - Added some schemes backend work 1.4 - Added inventory schemes - Changed download link destination 1.5.5 - Added all the new items - Updated the sprites for the compass and watch (no longer blank) - Rearranged the default groups (i.e. I pretty much sorted out that "Special" tab) - Added a button in the tools menu linking to your MC directory - Removed the "Hurr this would be a feature but it doesn't work" button - Item tooltips now include said item's ID - Added an interface to editing maps (at the moment, their scale, center position, and dimension can be changed) - Added options for managing precipitation & storms 1.6 - Added pistons, sticky pistons, and shears. 1.6.2 - Fixed a thing with the search bar; its tab is now smaller - Added "make-an-item-with-an-unknown-id" to the search bar; just type in an undefined ID number. 1.6.3 - Fixed the IDs for Pistons and Sticky Pistons being switched Planned Features - MCWiki data downloads, oh my Screenshot (first release): Here's one with the advanced panel in view, And here's a screenshot of the data editing view, with an older version of Minecraft open - as you can see, the name field is grayed out, and won't save to the level.dat file. Shortcut List: Buttons: - Full Button : Fill all slots with maximum item count - Repair Button : Set all non-special-damage items to 0 damage - Trash Button : Clear all slots Dragging from the items list: - Ctrl + drag to inventory slot : Fill column with maximum count of the item - Alt + drag to inventory slot : Fill row with max. count of the item - Right click & drag : Fill slot with max. count - Left click & drag : Fill slot with one item; increment if dragging to an item of the same ID From the inventory slots - Scroll up / down over Item : Edit count value - Ctrl + Scroll up / down : Edit damage value - Ctrl + drag to Full Button : Fill empty column slots with a copy of the item - Alt + drag to Full Button : Fill empty row slots with a copy of the item - Right click + drag to Full : Fill all remaining slots with a copy of the item (sans armor) - Ctrl + drag to Trash Button : Erase entire column - Alt + drag to Trash Button : Erase entire row - Right click + drag to Trash : Erase all items of the same ID (even with differing damage values) - Right click + drag : Split item to both slots, as close to half as can be. - Left click + drag : Switch items, or if items are the same (either by id or by id and special damage values) combine them - Ctrl + drag : Copy the item to the destination slot - Alt + drag : Replace whatever item is in the destination with the source item Got a suggestion? Post here. My objective is to make this as useful as possible before I consider it finished and release the source code.
the name makes it so much superior
Don't want to be a dick, but toomanyitems its so far the best inventory editor.InvEdit sucked compared to toomanyitems.Anyway, im just trying to say that there isn't any use for other inventory editor.

Even then, TMI may not work with certain other mods. It's not portable, either, and it has to be updated by the creator every time there's an update, which tends to depend on a new release of the Minecraft Coder Pack. Furthermore, this will have more tools than just an inventory editor. Currently, there's a data editor (name, seed, time, spawn, et cetera) as well. And mine has a better acronym. :smug:

TMI works with just about every mod i've encountered, and, even works with custom blocks without any kind of editing of the mod files. If you install a mod which adds a new block, you can easily get it through TMI.

As for mod compatibility, well, you know how it works better than I do. I'm not trying to diss TMI or say you shouldn't use it; I just would rather use something external than internal - I don't like modding Minecraft that much aside from trying to make it run better, so people like me won't be worrying about adding special blocks. Like I said, eventually there will be more than what's in Tea Time now.
I can only play minecraft in browser on my laptop. TMI doesnt work.
I find having to quit my world, open this thing, edit the values, and re-open my world each time I want to have more items. IMO single player commands does pretty much what most people would use this for much, much, much better (/infiniteitems, /infinitetools etc...) [editline]2nd April 2011[/editline] Ah I see so for people who dont want to mod [editline]2nd April 2011[/editline] Make it work ingame and you'll have one of the most popular mods ever
Make it work ingame and you'll have one of the most popular mods ever
That's an idea. Perhaps when Notch adds modding support I'll concentrate on something like that - it would depend on how TMI develops, though, as well as how the level data is structured in the future. I don't know if it's possible to dynamically edit the level.dat file while it's open ingame. Besides, even if mods do Tea Time's job better, I learned a ton of stuff while making it. 'Twas quite fun, too.

Oh my god oh my god this is so sexy :flashfap:
You get a wrench and a bump. I myself don't use problems such as INVEdit and such, but this is STILL a great program.

Well, as a proud Englishmen I eagerly clicked on this thread I was dissapointed at the lack of beverages , but I wasn't left wanting in terms of content, I'm going to give this a download !
Just downloaded it, looks really good. I will use this over INVedit, except(This is just me but..) I hate it how the little tabs swap over when you select a tab on the higher row. Throws me out a little every time. I was just wondering if it had an auto update like INVedit. That would be really handy, but at the rate Notch is releasing stuff, not that useful.
Looks cool, but i have INVEDIT and moreitems, so no thanks
Thanks, I read about this program, then i came upon a wolf in the forest and had no bones! I said "OH NO" then downloaded your program. Now wolfy is nice and fed.
Although I don't use inventory editors, when I decide to make a mega-project that won't be worth the gathering, I'll probably prefer this. Have a medal.

Sorry.
Looks cool, but i have INVEDIT and moreitems, so no thanks
Well, if you ever need an alternative, feel free to give Tea Time a shot. Has most of MineEdit's handy features Has the ease of INV Edit Loads near instantly You've got my download :buddy: [editline]3rd April 2011[/editline] In fact, the Inventory editor part is easier to use than INV Edit, all you need now is a search bar [editline]3rd April 2011[/editline] And if it was possible, a great feature would be a time slider like this [editline]3rd April 2011[/editline] Except actually accurate
I'm going to be honest. This sounded like something from kids next door at first. I'm interested to see how it turns out.

It doesn't do the thing where it makes a new item from the searched id if nothing is found, since you can do that with the ID box, but I'll add that if need be. Also, the time value sets itself to <value> modulus 24000 so that it's always between 0 and 23999 (the two sides of midnight). Let me know if there are any problems, or if the new things could use improvement, please. I tested it, but there could be something buggy.
NBT Edit 4 lyfe.
Idea: Select item, then use mouse slider to make the amount go up and down. It's hard to get a certain amount of items on this.
-snip, double post-
ah, it seems it will be impossible to make this run ingame in its current state, as you cannot edit the level.dat without fucking up minecraft while its running :( however I think you can edit the current region the player is in, and when the player gets to the edge of the region, maybe edit the regions around that region aswell? sorry if this make no fucking sense
Idea: Select item, then use mouse slider to make the amount go up and down. It's hard to get a certain amount of items on this.
Updated. You can now scroll up or down while the mouse is hovering over an item to change its values. Check the download link in the original post. Also, I've added the shortcut list to the OP. That may help you with your item amounts; it's pretty easy to get a full slot. People can just use TMI or something if they want an ingame editor.
As I said before but you didn't respond to, can we get an update button? So it will update when I click it like in INVedit. Not sure if its possible but it would be handy rather than downloading a new version every time. [editline]4th April 2011[/editline] Would be even more awesome if the icons and such could be taken from a selected texture pack, and not always default.
