Heres the thing, I just booted up Steam and I was looking to play some TF2. HOWEVER, what really caught my eye was that I supposedly had Team Fortress Classic listed just below it. So I went up to check and what do you know, I have the full anthology set.
I don't really know if Steam messed this up or anything, since I havn't activated the anthology on this account.
I even got the almighty Ricochet

Anyone else share my fortune?

I remember a thread from a guy who got half-life source for free, so is not the first time something like this happens.
Damn I hope that someday this happens to me :v:

Really should've payed money for it mate...
I got TF classic for free for some reason. I haven't even installed it yet though.
It is a sign.
Give up TF2 and play Ricochet NOW.
Nothing on this side
IT'S A BEGINNING OF HALF-LIFE 3 PROMOTION!
I'm pretty sure everyone just looked in there library to see if it was there too.
I already have the Half Life anthology, and Ricochet hasn't magically popped up in my library, so I suppose nothing on this end.
Nothing here...
:saddowns:
I got it for £1. Didn't realise all HL Retail keys are anthology keys.
Then I activated my £1 copy of HL retail.
All retail copies of GoldSrc games activate the Anthology Pack on Steam.
So, old Counter-Strike retail boxes, Half-Life, Blue Shift, Opposing Force, even Gunman: Chronicles give you ALL the anthology games - as long as they use the GoldSrc engine and has a CD key. Notable exception is Valve's own re-releases (such as the "Counter-Strike Anthology").
Darn it, I don't have Ricochet. D:
You mean the old HL Anthology from 2005?
I have Brink!

So if I use an old CS 1.6 key I get the anthology?
So... This just showed up on your games list?
Thanks OP, you reminded me to go off and Activate my Half-Life GOTY Edition key I bought used at a bookstore and now I I got all the missing Gold Source Games, I needed

IT'S THE ARG.
GO INTO THE GAME FILES AND LOOK FOR CLUES.
Havent any of you thought that maybe valve just likes the community so much that every week they give out a free half life anthology to 1 or 2 people?
Once, I tried registering Gunman Chronicles on Steam, using the cd-key on the jewel case. I got the whole Hl Anthology in the process.
I got a Golden Potato so I have all of Valve's games already.
:suicide:
Right, I should probably bring you up to date. If you participated in the Portal 2 ARG that spanned 10-12 games and either got a golden potato or did something noteworthy (such as me being the backend maintainer for that wiki), you got a Valve Complete Pack.
Great, I'll just be restarting my Steam to check this...

Dang, nothing new.
I opened steam about a week ago and realized I had Half Life: Source and Half Life Deathmatch: Source all of a sudden.

I still have Brink in my library, and it's way past 1 PDT... 10 hours past...
It's not even installed.
If I got it for free and get the promo for TF2... I would be a happy katastrophe.
Friend got HL Source for free. It was just in his libary.
I remember back in like 2005 I registered my old HL1 key just to see if it worked and it gave me every single game on Steam at the time.

iirc it still works if your key is old enough

They must've fixed this already.
You should email valve and demand they take away these games from your steam account. You did not purchase them, how dare they put them on there!
