[img]http://www.alltern8.com/user/library/upload/26547/TW2_logo.jpg[/img] Two Worlds II is a role-playing video game developed by Polish video game developer Reality Pump and published by TopWare Interactive as a sequel to the 2007 game Two Worlds. It was released on November the 9th 2010 in mainland Europe for PC (Windows and Mac), Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.[3] The game was released on the 25th January 2011 in North-America for the same platforms. [b]The game has been a commercial hit and sold 1 million units three weeks[/b] afters its release in Europe.[4] By February 2011 sold units have exceeded 2 millions in number. [B]Gameplay[/B] Like its predecessor, Two Worlds II is a real-time role-playing game that takes place in an open non-linear fantasy world where players take the role of a single character where they can explore and undertake quests. From the beginning players can lightly customize the appearance of the protagonist such as shape of face and body and skin colour. As is common in role-playing games, the player’s character will level up by gaining experience points through completion of quests and defeating enemies. Much of the in-game world can be fully explored from the beginning, regardless of how much the player has progressed through the main story arc. Despite being non-linear, many areas of the land are populated by strong foes with higher levels than that of the player initially and as a result players may want to explore them once their character has improved. While players will travel across much of the landscape on foot, they are soon given the option to ride on horseback and even later a chance to man the helm of a boat to sail across the seas between islands. In addition players can also fast travel using magical teleportation fixtures found across the map. From the beginning of the single-player game, all players' characters begin at the base level. Rather than having players choose a character’s class and style of play, as they level up points are given to be spent on improving their four main stats; endurance (health and damage), strength (combat), accuracy (ranged) and willpower (magic) while also unlocking and improving various other skills and abilities such as forging items, special combat moves, sneaking, spells and others. Player can also mix skills instead of focusing on one type of character overall. Materials can be gathered throughout the game world, either in the wild, from vendors or looted from fallen enemies. While some materials can be used in forging/upgrading weaponry and armor, other can be used in creation of lethal devices such as traps or bombs. Many others however are potential ingredients for potions that can be brewed by the player themselves. Certain mixtures can create effects that can either temporarily improve a player’s stats or skills or be used against enemies. Due to the large amount of outcomes, players can name and document their new creations. [B]Multiplayer[/B] The online multiplayer component is entirely separate from the single player game, meaning that upon first entering online play, players will create an entirely new base level character purely for use multiplayer modes. Unlike at the start of single player, a character’s race besides human and gender can be chosen in addition to the usual smaller changes. Players can also create multiplayer characters for use in multiplayer modes. The main multiplayer component is the Adventure mode; seven unique maps with given objectives for up to eight players to accomplish cooperatively. Like single player, character can gain experience and skill points to improve their characters. After the player has accumulated 10,000 currency, they can participate in Village mode, which allocates them a portion of land in a separate map, which they can build and upgrade various structures to create a functioning village that can further generate more currency for use in both Village and Adventure modes. The other multiplayer modes are competitive based, where their multiplayer character can be brought into various maps and game types to compete against other human players online. These include one on one duels against on other player in a small arena, team death match where two team of player must reach a certain kill count and “crystal capture”, where two team of players must collect a certain number of blue crystal the appear across a chosen map, along with other pickups that can remove or add crystals. [B]Expansion Pack[/B] It has been confirmed that a Two Worlds 2 Expansion pack, Pirates of the Flying Fortress, is set to be released in October. It will feature new animations, new recorded dialog, customization options, and new map area with a 10 hour campaign. It will also include 4 new multiplayer maps. [B]Innovative Features[/B] The complex magic system DEMONS enables the creation of individual spells with the aid of spell cards. Naturally the player can combine different spell cards and this means that an almost endless number of different spells can be created. CRAFT technology symbolizes a revolutionary metallurgy system which enables the player to individually design his own weapons and armor. The possibilities are practically endless. The appearance and quality of objects can be modified using various "basic ingredients", like metals, woods and dyes. And magic artifacts also boost the value of the player's best creations. All creations can be broken down into their individual parts and can then be reused. The advanced ecosystem also addresses the type of store, the amount of merchandise available and the reputation of the player when fixing prices. This means that profit margins can be really high if the player's buying and selling behavior is handled intelligently. The introduction of light-linked, physical effects enables completely new benchmarks as far as atmosphere is concerned. Lanterns swaying in the wind or sputtering fire torches are calculated with their cast shadows in realtime and integrated into the game. The result of this is a uniquely realistic light design. The application of a magic eye enables the player to explore the environment. The so-called Oculus (Latin for eye) is the ethereal aura of a disembodied eye, which glides invisibly and silently through the air controlled by its master. Additional options like fireballs also create a totally new influence on gameplay and on targeted strategic courses of action. The sophisticated PAPAKTM alchemy system enables a player to create special potions which target and strengthen one or more of his hero's skills. The ingredients for these potions might be plants, minerals or animal ingredients which can be collected (Mother Nature has it all in Antaloor), bought in merchants' stores or taken from the corpses of defeated opponents. The interactive physics system for movable objects creates special demands during the game. Chests have to be stacked, barrels thrown or perhaps hidden levers pulled to achieve specific objectives. Challenging mini-games at various locations inject variety into the gameplay, guaranteeing a high level of motivation. When the player comes across a lock, for example, he'll encounter a dexterity game - and if he urgently needs money, he can try his luck at dice or risk picking a pocket or two! i tried to give this game a chance, but it was just so bad, the gameplay was really boring and it felt so stiff

the HUD, it burns completely ruined the game for me, something so little put me off playing for a few days and then I ended up uninstalling it
I enjoyed the game up until near the end. It had nice environments, some funny moments, paid tribute to a lot of games and movies, and generally felt nice to me. However, I absolutely hated the ending, and the massive shortcut the devs made after the second island felt like a stab in the back.

I am renting this game from Gamefly. My friend really recommends it. And considering I love European RPGs, I think I will like it.
I have to skip past most of the conversations, or focus intently on the subtitles. Jesus christ that shrug animation and general shittyness of every other animation. And the fact it's so out-of-sync.

Other than that, pretty good RPG, def recommended if you like RPGs.

Best part of the game was the cloth animations on my cape
Yeah this is a pretty fun RPG, good co-op too and definitely a big world to explore with some cool quests everywhere. Also for those who really can't stand the monotonous voice acting, treat the story as a b-movie comedic fantasy version of Just Cause 2 with a mix of Monty Python and Douglas Adams stuff :v:. I've wondered for a long time, what kinda combat system does this game have? Is it like MMORPG style like WoW or Dragon Age or is it Haack & Slash like Gothic or Fable?

The text in this game is almost impossible to read on my TV. Otherwise, it's a really fun game. The stealth is really bad, way too easy. Everywhere I walk, I see enemies just sitting facing walls, begging for stealth kills. :v:
The only bad thing about this game is the devs adding in bullshit vocalization outside of dialogue for your character and only giving him 3 dialogue lines tops. On a similar note, Dead Island is doing this kind of shit too, it's the absolute bane of my existence when they implement stuff like this. Bitching about voice spam aside, this game is really nice. I'm in that oriental-themed place right now, but I haven't played in ages. Something about man eating umbrellas.

I was one of the few people who actually liked the first so if it is the same gameplay style but improved, then I'll definitely have to pick this one up during a sale.
I picked this up during the summer sale, and really enjoyed it. FAR better than the first one.

Ok, so I got the game from Gamefly today. I am enjoying it, although I seem to have trouble keeping track of how much health I have, and as such end up dying a lot.

I should probably stop being a bitch about the HUD and play this properly. I'll give it another shot tomorrow.
