TYPING OF THE DEAD: OVERKILL
SEGA just released this, with no previous announcement.
Features:
- Randomised kill-words to make every game experience unique;
- Your keyboard is the weapon – type bullet holes into those zombie hordes!
- Three difficulty levels included to test your typing skills to the max as well as a special ‘hardcore’ level for true keyboard warriors!
- Redefined HOTD gameplay to complement the new typing mechanics;
- Full Steam integration
- Full and faithful port of the original PS3 edition of HOTD included in game
In essence it's House of the Dead: Overkill... but you type to kill zombies instead. Also, if you like being boring and clicking instead, normal House of the Dead is included as well.

Holy shit this is the surprise release of the year.
The original TotD was hilarious and surprisingly fun.
Oh my god YES, I so fucking want to play this. This game does an AMAZING job at doing the whole grindhouse film style, probably better than any other game, but I don't have a Wii or a move controller, so when I tried emulating the wii version, just using the mouse to shoot was kinda boring, having it be focused on typing will make it so much more fun to play.

By 'original PS3 version of HOTD,' do they mean the actual original game that started the series, or the Overkill port release on the PS3?

The latter. The entire game is Overkill, ported from PS3 - that phrase just means you can play it with clicking instead of typing.

I just played through the first chapter and it's really damn fun, some of the stuff you type is pretty funny and really fitting.

i only saw one place that has HoTD3 arcade and the shotguns it has doesnt work :(
i was so hyped i inserted 2 credits by accident and that wasted me 20qr (i should try dual wielding the smgs in 4 next time)
So wait, is this not coming to consoles?

How do you pump the shotgun's if you have one in each hand?

You could also fire off the screen to reload, I think they expected the pump to break after a lot of use.

Some Gameplay footage I took. There's a small gap because one of my Steam Friends messaged me and I cut it out. I think I did fairly well, and my typing skills aren't quite as bad as I thought. The upper left portion of the keyboard seems to throw me off the most once they start throwing in the U's and P's.
I die on the boss and stop there; so sorry no ending.

Also, the original works on Windows 7 without any uses of patch, except for the quit button, there's no quit command, you have to Alt+F4.
I did even better on the second level, I made it through without dying once. That said, when I get words that use letters in the top right hand corner of the keyboard, those always trip me up the most. It's like my least used section of the keyboard; probably because most games only use keys on the left side.
That said; it's not apparent in the videos, but you don't have to enter spaces between words (Should be familiar if you played the original TOTD I hear); not that I think it would impact my performance that much.
I'll probably film another level tomorrow, just because I'm getting better at the game.

Playing through Hard and haven't died yet, mostly A's so far except for when I first started.
