This is a collection of 17 of my CSS deathmatch maps, most of which are built around surreal science-fantasy themes (though some were just designed for fun).
The Ancient Sanctuaries map pack includes:

-1v1_Ascension-
A small platform in the sky, featuring two small bases (each with a sniper tower) and one central platform.

-1v1_Fierce v1-
A dark structure, hovering in the void between worlds. Two bases with plenty of cover and sniping platforms, connected by two narrow, well-covered bridges.

-1v1_Palace2-
Set in the Imperial Palace of a fictional interdimensional alien empire, Palace2 is a duel map with a focus on stealthy gameplay. It is a dark map, where ambush and the use of night vision is emphasized.

-1v1_PalacePark2-
This Palace map, a spiritual successor to Palace2, is well-lit unlike its successor. It features straightforward duel gameplay. A machine gun spawns on the upper curved bridge.

-AIM_Akki1-
An asymmetrical teamplay map set in a large temple. Plenty of routes, atriums to fight in, as well as a sneaky lower tunnel route.

-AIM_Architects v1-
A symmetrical teamplay map set in a structure built by the mysterious, godlike Architect race. Main features are the healing zone and a large, yet claustrophobic three-level atrium.

-AIM_Mcraft v1-
A simple Minecraft-based map, ideal for 3v3.

A large Architect courtyard. Instant action- at spawn, the two teams are seperated only by a central platform.

An unfinished joke map I made for friends, loosely based in layout on a supermarket near us.

A tweaked version of Ascension, now fit for teamplay. Also new is a massive 3D Skybox.

Very small, simple deathmatch map, inspired by Iceworld.

Set in the Dome, the very core of the Imperial Palace, Spires is a small hovering platform for quick matches. It features a healing zone.

-Fro$tbite v1-
Medium-sized, icy map at the top of an ancient Architect obelisk. Features a very large 3D Skybox.

-GG_Dark Cathedral v1-
Symmetrical alien cathedral with a nice view of the Dome. Features a healing zone in the center.

Originally intended to be a spiritual successor to Ascension, it turned out as something else entirely. Two bases connected by a two-level bridge.

-Space Frame v1-
Set on a series of Architect platforms hovering in space, Space Frame is a massive map with teleporters (with sexy effects!) , boost pads (that fling the player quite far) and lots of sniping positions. I'm proud of this one c:

More detailed edition of Space Frame. The partially damaged and overgrown platforms now hover right above planet Earth.

Sound pretty interesting, some of them might even make decent stages for machinimas. Any chance we could get some screens of them?

Wow I read the title as 'Animal Sanctuaries map pack' and thought that they'd make an amazing theme for CSS maps. I was pretty disappointed when I opened the thread, though.
While scrolling down, my anxiety grew from wondering if this thread was going to be dumbed down by boxs or not. Good to see that didn't happen! Nice maps dude.

I'd rather have you comment on the layout and technical designs than the aesthetics :)

Quality of brushwork isn't just aesthetic.
I thought he meant simply the architecture in terms of decoration and detailing of the map :v:
Very Quake-esque maps. Those would work very well in Quake 3 or alike.
Quake was my main inspiration, I'm glad it shows :D
