an error occured for updating garrys mod (disk read error)

Hi there, I'm having problems with my Garry's Mod, whenever I try to play it, a updating screen comes up for three seconds and then an error occured for updating garrys mod (disk read error), I have tried what the steam support has said yet nothing, verifying game cache still nothing, has anybody had the same experience or know how to fix it? please help.
