• Minecraft Skin 3D - A Skinning Program Developed By A Friend.

So, my friend made a cool little 3d skinning program. He sent his original version to me on MSN Messenger. Then he made updates, and decided to post it on the Minecraft forums. Much to his (and my own) surprise, it took off. It's always on the front page of the Skinning section, and is going on 30 pages now. He's on version 1.2 of his beta release, and is adding code daily. I suggest you take a look if you are into skinning and hate editing 2d maps (which is also possible in his program). You can also hide layers (hat, head, arms, legs, etc), watch your model sprint, have him look around, and there are plenty of editing tools. Thread: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/746941-mcskin3d-new-skinning-program/ He has the download link there along with some media previewing the software. There are already a lot of youtubers making reviews about it, I'll embed some from his thread. I suggest you guys look into it, he's been working hard on it for the last little while, go ahead and post in his thread, he loves all kinds of criticism and ideas. Go wild. He now has an SVN of 1.3 beta, if you have an SVN program you should go check it out (unintended pun): http://mcskin3d.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/bin/

Nifty!
I think the guy in that second video is retarded. He said not a lot of skin editors support symmetry. :v:
This one looks like it gives you a full range of colour. I've seen some other editors where the pallet is limited, and I can't get the shades that I want.

Amazing idea, but honestly, nothing can replace the GIMP for me.

You can apply the skin to your account with the click of a button. In his next release there will be the option of adding folders in the list to make managing them even easier. He showed me it.
this is actually really cool, being able to view how your skins will look in game while editing
Neat. I like how convenient this program is. The remote uploader in it is something I will use alot since I keep changing between variations of my skin alot.
Is there a tool to apply noise to a skin so it isn't solid colors all around? I really have no idea how to do it manually and it'd be useful.
That actually looks pretty nice editor, I'll check it out hot damn, so many shortcut keys! perfect!
This program is buggy as fuck, it keeps on crashing for me. Still love it tho.

If you read through the forum, he's reading EVERY person's post, and working to fix every bug people find. He's already fixed several in 1.3, just waiting on his release. Also, some of the bugs in 1.2 are not found in the original version (however, there are a couple features not included obviously). So, if it's really that bad for you, you could try that. Tell your friend he's awesome.
Does this have multi-tool? AKA right mouse for color picker, middle mouse for erase and left mouse for draw?
Does this have multi-tool? AKA right mouse for color picker, middle mouse for erase and left mouse for draw?
Not yet, he said it won't be in 1.3, but they're looking at ways to implement it for 1.4. You can always request things in his thread, as well.
I'd rate programming king if I could.
