There was a thread on this already, yes, but unfortunately it died very quickly, and with very little information within the OP. Fortunately, for those that care, I have decided to remake this thread!
Dynasty Warriors Online (formerly Dynasty Warriors BB), known as Shin SangokuMusou Online (真・三國無双Online, Shin SangokuMusō Online?) in Japan, is an installment of the Dynasty Warriors video game series, based on the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, which was released in Japan in 2006 and will be released in North America and Europe in 2010. The "BB" in the game's title stands for broadband. It is an online Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 3 game where you create your own character and choose a weapon from existing playable characters and more. Once you have created your character, you enter the world of Dynasty Warriors, where you go around defeating people to gain experience points. You can also see people of the online community that you can battle. It also poses the introduction of free roam, of which a player can go from city to city talking to peasants and such. The release date for North America and European countries has yet to be determined, according to KOEI North America official website. However, there was a Dynasty Warriors BB's English trailer in May 2006 and the official KOEI Japan's press in October 2007 also released about the possibility of release this game into North America and Europe regions. In August 2010 it was announced that Aeria Games would be publishing this game for the North America and Europe regions. Closed Beta signups for the English version of Dynasty Warriors Online has begun. Players can signup for the Closed Beta on Aeria's DWO Website here: http://dynastywarriors.aeriagames.com The closed beta began October 14, 2010, and closed on October 26, 2010. Open Beta is to begin on November 2, 2010 at 7:00pm (PDT) and 10 PM EDT.
BACKGROUND
Nearly two decades have passed since the collapse of the Han Dynasty and the death of the usurper Dong Zhuo. War has engulfed all of China, and the fallen empire has splintered into competing regions in the possession of rival warlords and generals, each vying for territorial control. Among these figures is Cao Cao, a military genius and leader of the Wei armies, who has assumed effective rule over all of northern China. He travels south, across the Yangtze, to continue his campaign to reunify the country under his command. Standing in his path, however, are Liu Bei of the Shu, and Sun Quan of the Wu, who forge an alliance to turn back the Wei at the Battle of Chi Bi. Their partnership is short-lived, however, as the two soon turn against each other for possession of Jing province. The war of the Three Kingdoms has reached a stalemate. Each general has tasked their couriers to travel the land, seeking promising young recruits to join the cause. Do you have what it takes to rise to the challenge and turn the tide of battle?
Q: So, what exactly is Dynasty Warriors Online? If the above information didn't give it anyway, Dynasty Warriors Online is just a big brawl for it all, like many games in it's series. The revolves around you, the player, gaining experience and participating battles until you join one of the three kingdoms (hence the name of the novel.) You can participate in campaigns, co-op stories (which boast up to 4 players), and 12v12 battles. Q: What are the Kingdoms? What do each have over the other? Not many differences in Kingdoms aside from the color, leaders, and tests that they may conduct in order to fully accept you into the faction/kingdom. But here is the backstory of each: The Kingdom of Wei In the years following the collapse of the Han Dynasty, chaos and anarchy spread throughout the country. Regional warlords had amassed considerable power in the wake of the Yellow Turban Rebellion and there no longer existed a strong central government. Out of this period, emerged Cao Cao, who swiftly rose to prominence and unified all of northern China under his banner. The territory he seized would form the foundation of what would become to the empire of Wei. The Kingdom of Shu Before acquiring a title and land of his own, Liu Bei recruited an army to help defend the Han against the Yellow Turban Rebellion. Among the many warriors that swore allegiance to him were Guan Yu and Zhang Fei. The three would vow a pact of brotherhood, one that would forever be recorded in history as the “Oath of the Peach Garden.” Following the death of Dong Zhuo and the advent of Cao Cao, Liu Bei and his oath brothers formed the kingdom of Shu, seeking to restore the splintered empire to its former glory. The Kingdom of Wu The territory that would form the seat of the Wu family’s power was originally held by provincial governors that could not muster enough strength to vanquish one another. Sun Jian, a warlord who had earned considerable fame during the wars against the Yellow Turbans and Dong Zhuo, moved his armies into this area with the intention of merging the rival provinces. After his untimely death in battle, Sun Jian’s children, namely Sun Ce and Sun Quan, took up his cause and eventually established the empire of Wu. Q: This sounds pretty good, where can I play? You can download the game here: http://lime.dfw2.fileshack.com/fileshack/popup_server.x?fid=22059&server=1&fname=fileshack3/rpg/dwo/demo/dynastywarriorsonline_install_20101008.exe&shacku=ffshack025505216&shackpw=e0c1bf61664c1762fb844ef074643836&title=&pay=0 The game is owned by Aeria Games (as is most of the information here!) and you can find forums and much more info and media on their website.
I stopped playing a day after beta started. Is the game still worth coming back for?

Seeing as I like Dynasty warriors I gave this a whirl. Considering its free its a pleasent little time waster.
Surely isn't as good as I thought it was gonna be.
Any way to change the graphics out of game?
why do all the threads here have crappy quoted one-liners
Nuff said. Fuck you Wei, Fuck you. Stop winning every match and making my team mates lag out.
So I thought I'd bump this thread instead of creating a new one, as I've just decided to try it out again. And it has improved somewhat from the last time I played it. So I decided to join Dong Zhuo forces because mother fucking Lu Bu, and now he is my commanding officer. However, that put me in a suicidal situation - In order to promote, I gotta take all the bases on the level and then kill Lu Bu. He pretty much one hits me, and my musou doesn't even have any sort of knockback on him... Also some of the quests I need to do require 2 people, so anyone want to join me?
I gave it a shot since I always loved DW, but there was too much grind for my liking.
