Alright so I work at gamestop and if you haven't heard people who work at gamestop/walmart/best buy/target all get to participate in the Bethesda Insider that they allow the people to get free games. I applied last Tuesday the 8th, I was wondering if anyone else knew about how long it takes to get your account validated, so you can start getting stuff. This could also be a discussion thread about it, I just had a quick question and couldn't find any information on it.
This is entirely unfair. You have a job for a reason.
This is entirely unfair. You have a job for a reason.
And one of the perks of his jobs is free games from Bethesda. I see nothing unfair about it.
This is entirely unfair. You have a job for a reason.
he works a minimum wage job in an electronics department [store] it's unfair that he has the ability to get free games?
he works a minimum wage job in an electronics department [store] it's unfair that he has the ability to get free games?
I work minimum wage elsewhere and I don't get free games.
Sounds like a personal problem to me.
he works a minimum wage job in an electronics department [store] it's unfair that he has the ability to get free games?
Really, it isn't like I get any game for free, I work for minimum wage with maybe 15 hours a week if I am lucky, this week I am working 20 because of black Friday a shift from 11:45 PM to 8AM, if anything free games is a small perk that isn't huge but a nice perk that makes up for the crappy wages. Anyone happen to know how long it does take though? [editline]23rd November 2011[/editline]
This is entirely unfair. It wasn't even up to me about it, Bethesda did it, I have no say over it, they allow it so I am going to take advantage of a perk that is available to me.
I work minimum wage elsewhere and I don't get free games.
Well let's consider that he works at a major outlet which happens to sell products made by Bethesda. If anything it's a kind gesture by Bethesda giving people who sell their products a little reward. The reason that Bethesda gives employees of those companies free games is most likely because they're the largest sellers of their games. It sounds like you've got a case of self entitlement, mate.
i like how this thread went from "When does this employment perk take effect" to "this is unfair that someone else has perks that I don't!"
You all make fine points. I apologise, OP. Enjoy your free games!
I work minimum wage elsewhere and I don't get free games.
So your logic is to take away that privilege because you feel its not "fair".
I work minimum wage elsewhere and I don't get free games.
then cry to your union rep about it retard (User was banned for this post ("Flaming, long ban history" - Orkel))
i like how this thread went from "When does this employment perk take effect" to "this is unfair that someone else has perks that I don't!"
Does anyone still happen to know when it becomes validated? It has been around 2 weeks now and I want it activated already! D:
I thought most game departments in stores get sent free copys of games for the coordinator/manager to play. This month alone we got free copys of Saints Row 3, NFS:OTR, CoD, Forza and others I cant remember.
Neither of you make good points.
heres a point, a company can make whatever the fuck they want for perks, don't like it? go find a job that gives you other perks besides a paycheck.
Neither of you make good points.
The first one probably didn't read the thread The second one was obviously a joke :v:
Smashman could you please get a brain.

I got Skyrim, Brink (thank god I got it from there for free), Hunted, bunch of tshirts and dlc. All for free. Yes, you can get Skyrim from it for free. [editline]23rd November 2011[/editline]
This is entirely unfair. Grow a brain kid.
I work minimum wage elsewhere and I don't get free games.
Working at McDonals won't get you free games.....but it will get you free meals.... It depends on the place you work. But I'm sure you didn't need the explanation, right?
Well it looks like you know, but you didn't answer my main question, how long does it take to be validated?
Took them about an hour to activate my account. Other co-workers it took a day, or as long as a week. You will get validated as long as you gave them a proper valid pay stub, after that, you watch video's and answer questions about games to earn points. 5-10 points per video or right answer. 100 points gets you a game. Currently you can get Brink, Hunted, Fallout NV (Xbox) Skyrim, and DLC on the site. Oh, and Rage, forgot about Rage.

Was expecting this to go a lot faster.. When it says "and will receive an email when we finish," do you need that to activate it, I really hope not so i don't have to go searching through spam like a mad man.
UGH I wanna be validated so I can get some free games! Was expecting this to go a lot faster..
Contact bethesda insiders at insiders@community.bethsoft.com via email. Ask them of the status of your account validation.
moral of the story: smashman doesnt know when to shut the fuck up still either way, this is an interesting program. and judging from how you "earn" games it seems like a sort of selective focus group for bethsoft.
Well I know where to work now.
Ha, no. You do not want to work for gamestop.
Ah yes I have one of these for working at walmart (fucking terrible, I work 9am to 9pm thanksgiving day). I got brink for free with it, but really after answering most of the questions, the only way to get points is by referring people.

You can get Rage, Skyrim, Hunted, and New Vegas easily. They update the site constantly with new videos and questions.
