• HELP ME FIND A GAME

wuddup. I'm going to cut right to the chase this game was old. I'd say early 90s or so. it was a medieval/fantasy game, but it was a blend of so many things it's so hard to describe. I picked it up in a library one day and played it to death (but I was never any good at it). I'll try to explain it the best I can The game is called like "16[00] something medieval something" or along the lines of that. The game starts you off as a knight and you serve under a king. You have your own fief and all of that and you start off in a city. In the city mode, you go around in the age of empires 2 main menu style system (where the city is just a background picture but there's signs hanging from buildings). There's a blacksmith to purchase armor and weapons for yourself and your keep or whatever where you can tax your people and I'm pretty sure that's also where you go to buy your army of fellow knights. I'm pretty sure there's a quest system too because once you're done with that you go on to the next stage. The next stage is an isometric world view. You leave your fife and move around the game world, but I don't really remember if it's your typical 90s style "you make a move and the other characters in the world move at the same time" kind of thing. I really don't remember that bit. I'm pretty sure it works that way though. Either way, all I remember is just following the main road until I come across another fortress in which case you just walk on top of it and you can enter. One of two things can usually happen in this mode which I'll explain in the next tidbit Either you'll get attacked by an enemy military while you're traveling around with your guys in isometric mode or you won't. But if you do the game goes from being isometric to a top-down view of your classic line battles. On the left are your dudes or whatever and on the right are the enemy dudes. You can order whatever guys you have to do something, so for example you can order your archers to defend in which case they'll just sit back and launch arrows or throw javelins, and you can position your horseback knights and pikemen up front to attack or defend too. Usually at the beginning whenever I played I only had enough money to hire like five guys so whenever I fought the enemy they had like an army of hundreds. There was no way in hell I was ever winning The OTHER and final thing that would happen is that you would successfully land on top of the enemy castle (or even your own fief if it's being besieged by enemies) and this is when the interesting thing happens. The game goes to first person shooter mode. You advance around enemy castles (or your own village or whatever) by yourself and just fucking duke it out with the enemy until either you wipe them all off the map or you get slaughtered because you never bought good enough weapons or armor to defend yourself. It was interesting because the game worked like the first two elder scroll games: you click and drag your mouse and whatever direction you drag your mouse is the direction you swing. In the end I don't really think it made much of a difference, your swing direction, because the enemies are just 2D sprites and chances are they'll never attempt to block your attack anyway if you guys know what this game is, dude, you'll make my christmas forever. I know there was a thread for asking for shit like this but I figured this will disappear on to the second or third page within an hour or so anyway. If you know what it is there may be something in it for you ;) thx in advance
