I was doing my second playthrough of Deus Ex: HR when I reached Hengsha, the mission to find Tong. After I spoke with Tong ( Manager ) the first time he refused to confirm his real identity. The game told me to see the bartender just a floor below. My brother on the other hand wanted me to kill the bartender. The bartender was talking to me as though he was going to give me a quest. But before anything I shot him. It then said I had failed a mission, how do I proceed with the game without restarting my whole game process?

If it was Bobby you killed, you only lost a sidequest.
Few tips. Listen carefully to the things NPCs tell you. Second, don't listen to your brother and rather play the game on your own.
