So my Minecraft server has been using an insane amount of memory lately, like right now, I have 200 mb free of ram and theres only me playing! I have tried bringing the draw distance down to 7 and still no change, I have also tried removing my additional worlds with Multiverse but still not really much help. Im running with 1 GB of ram and the following plugins:

I have no idea why its using so much and how I could put a stop to it... Any ideas? It came to my attention as I moved it a few weeks back to my 2GB of ram guaranteed VPS and it just kept saying >Killed after a few hours of being up and that was when I allocated 1.5 GB of ram!
Any ideas? PS: Im back on the GTX Gaming server now.

The most common problems for server memory issues deals with protection/logging plugins. Temporarily remove them, run the server for a bit and see if the lag is gone.
Uh, what? With just me and a few other friends, my bukkit 1.7.2/3/4 server will use easily 6GB of 8GB if given the space using maybe 5 plugins. Animals in high quantity/odd plugins will quickly occupy a lot of RAM.
