Sorry spekter, I never asked for this.
Alright, here we go!
A friend of mine said that Invisible War is better than Deus Ex.
I laughed quite hard at him for the rest of the day.
OK, I'm going to clean up the OP a little and it seems that the videos have disappeared even though I tested them.
By the way, thanks to DainBramageStudios for the excellent megathread format - it's a really clean format.

I still feel kind of bad that I said I would fix the OP on page 1 of the last thread and I never actually did
It's great, just needs quite few more additions, but it's great nontheless.I'm proud.
Oh, fresh thread smell.
Oh, that fresh augmentation smell.
This thread is clearly V3 Augmented.
I still feel kind of bad that I said I would fix the OP on page 1 of the last thread and I never actually did
The OP was fine, but if you're talking about those news threads then it's understandable why you didn't want to do that.
Besides, if people want to read a bunch of news articles, we can just refer them to V1, right?
Gentlemen, I propose :

"You might have changed a lot, but you haven't turned into a woman. Stay out of the ladies restroom Jensen."
That new (at least to me) gameplay video of Tai Yong is really nice. I'm liking how they're incorporating the black and gold art style. Also, that sound suppressor aug seems like Run Silent in DX1, but actually useful.

A lot of the augs in DX 1 were kind of useless other then in a select few situations. That's one of the few things I didn't like about it.

Great OP, must've taken a lot of time, especially with all those "Ask JJB"
[editline]7th July 2011[/editline]
I just noticed that this sounds sarcastic, but I'm not.
RIP Spy Drone, I though you were invincible
I loved the Spy Drone, especially since I hated wasting GEP rockets and Multitools on destroying cameras.
If you want to try, putting any media related content outside of release tags will smooth up the OP. I'm not sure if it applies to videos, but it does with screenshots.
Well, now I can say that I was here in the beginning.
I know some people were a little confused by how a really loud non-lethal takedown wouldn't alert a nearby enemy, whereas a lethal one would.
Here are JFD's comments on this:
Q: you mentioned in an interview that fatal takedowns are more noisy than non lethal takedowns, but from the look/sound of it so far they're both just as noisy and sometimes you're taking down enemies literally within arms distance of another one but they don't overhear lol? will the animations be contextual in the final build to represent this?
A: That was a tough one. On one end, you want a counter consequence between both styles of takedowns. On the other end, you want them to look impressive regardless of the style. We wanted to balance the game in such a way that it feels as good to be stealthy than it does to be a fighter. So, I guess, that’s the kind of odd compromise we made to balance out both gameplay modes.

Maybe shoot the guy while he's dead with a Silenced pistol.

I don't see why they couldn't make Adam silently lower the body to the floor after knocking out his victim. I think that'd look just as awesome as stabbing two arm knives through someone.

redBadger, you avatar is making me very red.
Would you prefer it as in Splinter Cell? Where Sam chokes his victims unconscious, or delivers a concussion.
[editline]7th July 2011[/editline]
I'm just fine with it as it is
Yes, actually. It gives you feeling that you're being stealthy and quiet. The current form works too, though.

reposting...
Your appointment to FP should be finalized within the week, I have already discussed the matter with TH89.
I take it he was agreeable?
He didn't really have a choice.
Has he been permabanned?
Oh yes, most certainly. When I mentioned we could put him on the priority list for the refugee camp he was so willing it was almost pathetic.
This bug. The ban-mes are intensifying to the point where we may not be able to contain them.
Why contain them? Let them spill over into the GGD and News Node, let the red users pile up in the threads. In the end, they'll beg us to unban them.
I've received reports of DDOS attacks on the mod section. There's not enough admins to go around, and the blues are starting to get desperate.
Of course they're desperate, they can sense their bans and the sound they'll make whining in the Refugee Camp will serve as a warning to the others.
I hope you're not underestimating the problem. The others may not go as quietly as you think. Intelligence suggests they're behind the problems in the OIFY.
A bunch of pretentious neckbeards playing at running the internet. But the net left them behind long ago. We are the future.
We've got bigger problems.
The DX thread?
Formed by administrative order after the hacker strike on the forums. I've got someone in place, though. I'm more concerned about Orkel. He's relocated to the GMF.
Our scripting ability is far in advance of theirs, as is our programming language. Plus, their... Administrative inflexibility has allowed us to make rules they refuse to consider.
The garry newman rule?
Amongst other things, but I must admit that I have been somewhat disappointed in the performance of the primary user.
The secondary user should be registered soon. He's currently undergoing preparations and will be operational within six months. My people will continue to report on his progress. If necessary, the primary user will be permabanned.
We've had to endure much, you and I, but soon, there will be order again. A new age. Aquinas spoke of the mythical forum on the net, soon that forum will be a reality and we will be crowned its kings.
Or better than kings.
