It can be played with up to 7 friends locally. You'll need plenty of controllers and USB sockets but it's well worth it.Otherwise, it has online modes where you can build your own teams, hand pick players, and there are plenty of people online.
If you enjoy playing classics like Zidane, Pele, Maradona etc. there are [URL="http://www.moddingway.com/file/40606.html"]mods[/URL] for that too.

I was very suspicious of it at the beggining aswell.I had stopped playing fifa in 2004 when i was about 10, and I hated football ever since.Never watched matches and I'd switch off sport news.
But I got Fifa 14 because of its local couch mode,and it's been the most fun local co-op game so far, and I tried many.
It gets regular updates on origin, and a few days ago they introduced a World Cup 14 mode, quite nice.
Plus,simply watching or playing video [URL="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/11/26/watching-exercise-can-make-you-fitter_n_4331612.html"] sports games can make you fitter [/URL] or get you [URL="http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/09/080901205631.htm"]smarter[/URL]
But I think the biggest benefit is that you might actually go out and play some sports. Beach soccer is also great to play irl.
