Hello again! I've started making another Dota 2 themed Windows visual style recently. As I progress, I'll upload new screenshot here showing the bits and pieces I'd made recently. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When finished, the theme will (likely) include: - The visual style - Installation guide - Navigation icons - explorerframe.dll - Clock - timedate.cpl - Shell style - shell32.dll - Start orbs - Windows and Steam orbs, with or without frames - Matching Rainmeter skin ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With any questions, requests, suggestions, feedback, or help contact me: - Mail: yorgash@mailbox.hu - Steam: yorgash - Skype: yorgash ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you want to support the making you can donate via PayPal at yorgash@mailbox.hu. When the final version is released, it will be free to download.
You made the steam windows skin too, right? Like that one, and this one looks promising. Can't wait for your pixelvision skin.
Wish I had any pennies scrounged up to donate. Cant wait to see the finished product!
Thank you guys, I'll be updating the post whenever I've made a major update to the skin showing what's most recently done.
Wow, that's sexy.
Wow, that's sexy.
Thanks, trying to hurry it up!
Guys, could you tell me if you would prefer the caption buttons (close, minimize, restore) stay as the ones I've posted above, or rather more like this: Please observe closely.

Thank you guys, I'm keeping the later style then.
Showing some of the most recent progress, selection backgrounds, headers and other hard-to-spot differences. Looking good, but I have a request that I forgot to ask. For this one could you make a small icon taskbar version? Your steam skin didn't seem to have that, and it was one of the things stopping me from using it [sp]aside from wanting to wait for the pixelvision version.[/sp] By small icon taskbar, I mean making a version of the taskbar that becomes smaller with the icons when you have it checked in the taskbar properties. In the steam skin, it would stay the same size, while having the icons become smaller, which looked sort of awkward.

I'll probably make some kind of small taskbar for this one though, since it's easier to interpret with these taskbar buttons as it is with the Steam theme.
I was wondering if a bit darkened window borders would look better or worse... Also, I've made a concept for the popup menus; not sure if I made it orange (like the hero suggestions / builds page ingame) would it look good, or should I keep it red. I think the darker window looks cool, and that you should just keep the context menu buttons with the color scheme of the whole thing. And I agree with the post above me, the text needs to be a bit more clear on the clock. Maybe giving it a small black stroke to make it stick out more, along with what Vodkavia mentioned, would make it look better.
Thanks, will see to adjusting it like that now.
So made a few adjustments to match the suggestions; this style might also be recognizable from in-game elements. Still not sure how the final version will play out, but want you guys to compare this style and the last, and say which one you would like more. Thank you in advance!
Looks good, but the context menu text would probably look good if it was the tan color of the rest of the theme, for consistency's sake.

Update showing some of the recent progress, either final or not. Most of the controls / boxes / buttons have taken form now.
Today I've made a lot of progress, so I'd say chances are it will be released early next week, or even by the weekend.
The last preview before release, that - if all goes well - will happen in a few days. Showing the alternate (wider) taskbar, task manager, clock and calendar, and thumbnails. Sadly I can't seem to be able to recolor the clock hands.
