So Blacklight Tango Down has been on my mind for sometime. I do not see a lot of others tracking the game like I am. Lets make a thread for it.
Currently no release date, but it's planned to be released this summer on Xbox 360 Arcade, Playstation 3, and PC starting price is $15
Game Information
Blacklight: Tango Down is a futuristic FPS set in a rundown Eastern European city 25 years in the future. Up to 16 players will be able to join a game on 12 maps. The focus is on a customizable weapon system that doles out upgrades one at a time as players level up. This isn't a class-based shooter. Rather, Blacklight aims to show off the personal preferences of each player. @playtangodown Did we mention that Tango Down has over TWO TRILLION weapons and armor combos?? I should know, I counted them myself!
Thirteen scopes + nine stocks + twenty barrels + thirty magazines + over one hundred weapon tags = millions of weapon combinations.
You'll be able to make some pretty absurd guns, like shotguns with a super scope and two pistol grips. Those weapon tags we mentioned are like the charms you might hang from your cell phone and are apparently used by some real-world special forces members (Although they probably aren't Hello Kitty charms -- but that would be pretty cool!). There are 108 weapon tags in all and each one provides subtle upgrades to your weapon. Every time you level up, a new tag will be randomly selected and given to you. Note that all of this equipment, from scopes to magazines, upgrades your weaponry in some way.

The name is horrible but the game looks pretty good. I was interested in it until they said they weren't having dedicated servers and my interest was instantly lost. Also for the info about the charms, I saw an E3 demo of it and some guy had little brass knuckles hanging from his gun so it's something like that.
If there weapon system is relly as complicated as it says it is and the multiplayer doesn't fall flat on it's face I might get this.
So, when do you fight Alex Mercer?
I would say no dedicated servers makes the game a no go for me also, but the fact they're focusing on making everyone's gameplay unique makes me want to play it so badly.
Seems cool, may get when it comes out.
I'll get this depending on how well the MoH beta goes.

You've heard of a trial?
Did these people like forget the point of a ironsight? That is just terrible :ohdear:
I saw this and thought it looked kinda cool. Like CoD: Modern Modern Warfare.

Is it coming to Xbox Live Arcade or a proper retail release?

I love how he puts his entire face into the sight.
BAHAHAHHAHAHAH the sights are god awful.
Looks like another generic shooter with the gimmick of customizable guns thrown in to me.
My favorite word in the dictionary is "Gen-er-ic".
Seriously, this is something we have already seen millions of times over.
Does anyone know the proper release date of this?
I've been hearing 1st july but that seems too soon :S
It looks okay, it looks like your average shooter but with some interesting weapon customization. Most likely will buy it, something to do in summer when theres nothing else to play.
This reminds me of Project: Snowblind for the PS2. Lots of people said that looked generic, yet apparently a lot of people liked it. Maybe this will do the same? v:v:v
Looks very 'neotokyo mod-esque'.
I like it.
Looks fun, love the style.
I hope there will be some sort of "try before you buy" feature.
And I'm a little worried that they might force people to buy new weapons/maps only available through DLC.
Right now i'm hearing the 7th of july as the release date. But that's wikipedia so be cautious.
According to IGN game will be released on July 7, 2010 on XBLA. Hopefully it's the same day for PC.
What's up with the iron sights? It's a shooter, how hard can it be to create some proper iron sights?!
