• Notch just sounds done

I found this hilarious and felt I should post it somewhere, but Notch was recently asked whether Herobrine was real for the thousandth time, and his response was:
Fine, Herobrine is real, and he gains spooky vengeance haunting power whenever you remind me of him. Only way to stop him is to ignore him
Just sit back and appreciate how fucking done with the community he is. https://twitter.com/notch/status/485842137942999040 [editline]6th July 2014[/editline] Or his newest tweet:
oh god no entity 303 what is wrong with you people its just a game i cant deal with this. Go read a science, people! There are no ghosts!
https://twitter.com/notch/status/485842973171535873
I really feel bad for the guy, he can't seem to live minecraft down and get away from all the obnoxious 10 year olds.
Why is this funny? Honestly I think anyone would find this annoying to the point of insanity if for years people went on and on about what essentially amounted to nothing more than bad creepypasta (Slenderman anyone?). But this is Notch, so I guess he gets special [negative] treatment.
I really feel sorry for Notch. Having kids asking you questions that were already answered on your Twitter everyday must suck.
Go read a science, people!
I've read many science in my day so I fully recommend this if you haven't yet.

I'm a Notch fan, doesn't mean I can't find this funny.
I really feel sorry for Notch. Having kids asking you questions that were already answered on your Twitter everyday must suck.
It's his fault he has a Twitter, in the end.
He must get a little giggle from it all. I mean..
You know, they should just add Herobrine as a "thing" already. Make it a one-time spawning, slightly more difficult version of an Enderman and if you kill him you get a book with some lore or something. It'd make people shut up about it, it'd actually kill the rumors (assuming they're still around which is laughably pathetic in that case), and it doesn't impact the game in the slightest.
Things like these are funny at first, but when it comes in a constant, neverending stream it just starts to wear you down.
If memory serves me correct, they've been running that stupid Herobrine joke since mid Beta (adding the "Removed Herobrine" Joke to each major update changelog and whatnot). Notch probably wouldn't be bombarded with that crap had they not pushed the joke a little too far I understand that the main/majority audience are kids but even kids can learn what a joke is. Notch just needs to say it straight a couple of times is all. Sooner or later other people will end up replying to those "Is Herobrine Real?" questions and do the work for him.
With so many voices shouting and so many idiotic opinions being flung about, it's almost an inevitability for the average Joe to snap, let alone the average indie developer. Not everyone's cut out to dealing with the constant barrage of abuse and idiocity that comes from new media, and by not everyone I mean barely anyone. Why do you think some celebrities have people on board to read their mail for them? Most human beings aren't used to being exposed to the vitriol of thousands, let alone millions, and the connectivity offered by the internet means everyone has the means to easily contact you through email or social media or site comments. It's no wonder Notch is so fucking done with the crap community, since if reading the comments section on YouTube is like finding a pile of fish on the carpet, listening to the Minecraft community would be like walking into a room full of surströmming and expired century eggs.
Wouldn't people on YouTube making fake videos of "sightings" of this silly myth? I'm pretty sure it drilled that presumption into children's minds so it made them a little... I can't think of a better word than the harsh word "mad".
But I can. In fact I have a few, like misled, crazy, stupid, etc. After all, they're kids. Putty-brained caterpillars that have yet to cocoon themselves and learn the true horrors and wonders of the universe, so when they become butterflies they're actually smart and reasonable creatures. Assuming they don't get infected with archaic outdated memes.
I really feel bad for the guy, he can't seem to live minecraft down and get away from all the obnoxious 10 year olds.
he probably shouldn't comply to have a line of toys made from his game for 10 year olds. He brought it on himself.
Maybe if he didnt ruin the fucking game and gear it more towards 10 year olds than it needed to be he wouldn't be harassed like this
Maybe if he didnt ruin the fucking game and gear it more towards 10 year olds than it needed to be he wouldn't be harassed like this
It's a kid's game. It always has been, it just happens to be fun for adults too.
Herobrine for spookiest door.
It's a kid's game. It always has been, it just happens to be fun for adults too.
Kind of like how LEGO appeals to all ages.
It's a kid's game. It always has been, it just happens to be fun for adults too.
Back in alpha it wasn't. Kids didn't really know about the game until it went to PAX, E3, and started advertising on commercials. Ahh.. The good Ole days.
Back in alpha it wasn't. Kids didn't really know about the game until it went to PAX, E3, and started advertising on commercials. Ahh.. The good Ole days.
Back in alpha it wasn't anything.
soon as the game hit mainstream it was all downhill the surge of copy and paste youtubers making their own memes appealing to the middle school audience alongside notch making the development team nothing but rehashers and lazy oafs pretty much locked in the fact that the game would lose all the charm and appeal it had in the early days of development I quit playing it around the time they decided "hey because fuck content updates let's keep adding adventure map support that doesnt actually affect vanilla play" I'm not saying the formula doesnt work but there's a HUGE problem when the only appeal of your game today is that's it's moddable to hell, because that tells you the vanilla is so shitty and empty that nobody actually wants to play the game they buy, just a variation of it.
soon as the game hit mainstream it was all downhill
same with every game, am i right
same with every game, am i right
It's all dependant on the developer and how they take it Obviously someone like valve is a large studio so when everything they do is mainstream it has little effect on future content but indie studios who started with little suddenly get pressured like mojang, it all becomes catering to the majority even if that means not actually updating the game and instead focusing on making the game more moddable- because the customers will do all the work and you'll still get the money
Maybe he should just add in Herobrine and then people will finally stop annoying him.
I really feel sorry for Notch. Having kids asking you questions that were already answered on your Twitter everyday must suck.
Or he could just ignore the shit questions, honestly I have no sympathy for him. It's not like there are physically children appearing in front of him constantly. They're just notifications on a screen. He most likely understands this and just wants to troll people instead (see Cliff Horse).
He most likely understands this and just wants to troll people instead (see Cliff Horse).
Cliff Horse was mocking Early Access, not whatever you seem to be thinking
I wish I could see his facial expression when someone brings up herobrine.
Kids will be kids. I actually feel sorry for the current 10 year olds because if I had access to what they have now (Facebook, Twitter, [insert social media site here]) I'd just self kill because I was a complete tard.
Just replace Notch with Kamiya for one day.
the average minecraft community makes even the tf2 community look pleasent
