What do you think about the current state of Minecraft? Will the community die out any time soon?
Why would the community for the most sold PC game of all time die?
There's not really any discussion to be had. Microsoft hasn't really divulged any information about what they're doing yet afaik.
Die out? Totally not. Change? Yes, a fucking lot. In alpha and beta Minecraft wasn't really popular. You would join a small 20-30 slot server and there would be a small community with its own people. Now a lot of kids are obsessed with minecraft. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but this made older players go away and change the servers main audience from mixed to kids/teens. This globalized the servers, earlier you had a ton of 20 slot servers, now you have not so much 5000 slot servers where 70% of the players spends their time on. Change of demographic made it so there are less mature people that can be moderators, and with just 10 moderators it's really hard to track and resolve issues of about 4000 players so servers become a mayhem. It can be different in other countries, I'm only talking about servers in my country, Poland.
"Most sold" wow
It has only been undersold by Wii Sports, and that game ships with the console itself. Also, Wii Sports isn't a PC game.
http://metro.co.uk/2014/06/26/minecraft-is-now-second-best-selling-video-game-ever-4776265/
