The basic premise involves controlling an Evil Genius, building a secret base, recruiting minions and conquering the world. Elixir studious has shut down, but Rebellion now owns the IP. The Description on the Elixir blurb says: In this strategy / simulation game created by Elixir Studios, the player assumes the role of an evil mastermind bent on achieving global domination through the construction of the ultimate doomsday device. Build a secret base, gain infamy and notoriety by completing daring missions, repel the forces of justice in real-time combat and develop evil super weapons to complete a nefarious master plan. Evil Genius is a tongue-in-cheek take on the 60's spy thriller genre offering the player the chance to play the villain himself and control a secret island fortress complete with powerful henchmen, loyal minions and a wide range of hilarious gizmos, gadgets and traps. Some of the key features of the game: * Master all five evil gameplay elements: base building, real-time combat, minion training, techno-research, and mission deployment * Manage your minions as you train them to develop evil technology and super-weapons * Build your secret base and defend it against attacks by obnoxious action heroes and government agents in real time * Find and recruit talented henchmen from a variety of exotic locations; dispatch agents to war zones in search of talent, scour universities for insane scientists and launch prison breaks to free captured henchmen * Undertake numerous missions to increase your power and notoriety, including stealing the Eiffel Tower, kidnapping pop stars, and procuring priceless treasures and art [t]http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-v5k8AxQKOt0/TVynbx_xYPI/AAAAAAAAAIY/-x_q38SoR-s/s1600/Evil+Genius.png[/t] Screenshots [t]http://www.ian.org/Remote/EvilGenius22%20Distraction.jpg[/t] [t]http://images.slashdot.org/articles/04/11/worldmap.jpg[/t] Where to buy http://store.steampowered.com/app/3720/ £6.99/$10 http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/evil_genius/ $6.99 A demo is also available. Mods While there aren't any mods that offer any massive gameplay changes, some examples of things you can do with mods are new Acts of Infamy, changing minion colours, make outdoor buildings such as hotels building indoors, and most important of all -make Red Ivan not blow up your entire base when you try to use him. Since then they have not done much with the IP, other than releasing a Facebook game. The Rebellion CEO, Jason Kingsley, has confirmed recently on twitter that they have plans to make a sequel, and something will hopefully be announced this year:
[t]http://www.n1nj4.com/files/twitter2.jpg[/t] [t]http://www.n1nj4.com/files/twitter1.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/W5vlZFh.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/hIWd4tU.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/Mzpdj5l.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/gbp423E.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/tm76a5f.png[/t]
More people should ask Jason Kingsley about EG2, so far he has replied to nearly all of my questions: https://twitter.com/RebellionJason
Was reading Evil Genius 2.. Another day passes without any word on EG2 :(
They have said they are working on something though. That's better than nothing, even if they haven't shown anything yet.
They have said they are working on something though. That's better than nothing, even if they haven't shown anything yet.
I thought it was some shitty facebook game that completely ruined the memory of EG.

The other thread reached 1000 posts already? Anyway, I'll try to make some 1280x720 screenshots for the OP.

Eli Barracuda, motherfuckers! Best henchman ever.
You should add the World Domination Starter Kit "DLC" to the OP. I know the GOG version comes with it, albeit you need to go to the extras or someshit and install it. If I recall it works with the Steam version too http://www.n1nj4.com/egpatches/BonusCD.zip The bonus disk includes the following: The bonus henchman, Colonel Blackheart
Colonel Blackheart is an arrogant, nasty, colonial big game hunter. For Blackheart the hunt is everything and he views life as just one big hunt. Blackheart's philosophy is a simple one, you are either a hunter or the hunted. Only those that are true to his jungle principles of survival and supremacy earn his respect; all others are prey, to be tracked down, caught and killed. Such is the fate of those below him on the food chain. Blackheart himself has had a few scrapes, most notably losing his leg to a Bengal tiger that he ended up killing with his bare hands. Rumor has it that he cooked the beast with the remnants of his leg in a marmalade of tomatoes and local spices - a true hunter's stew in honor of such a magnificent and worthy opponent. Colonel Blackheart is a bonus henchman only included in the World Domination Starter Kit (details on the modding page). Special Abilities Mantraps: Colonel Blackheart is a master of trapping. Blackheart may plant one area of traps, agents caught will struggle for vital seconds allowing Blackheart to close in for the kill. Pendragon: Blackheart's only friend is a bad tempered and vindictive monkey called Pendragon. Blackheart can launch the monkey at nearby enemies, whereupon he becomes a fury of swirling claws, sending those nearby into blind panic.
The bonus item, the Lay-Z Minion Recliner Chair
The Lay-Z-Minion reclining chair is the height of comfort, allowing any minion who uses it to relax and gather their thoughts, rapidly boosting their attention and making them fit to work again.
The bonus trap, the Nut Rupture Flashbang Launcher Palm Tree
This delightful palm tree houses some particularly deadly fruits; well poisonous coconuts to be precise. When triggered, the toxin-laden coconuts are launched high into the air, raining the area with a dreadfully toxic gas. Anyone caught in the nauseous cloud will suffer the harmful effects, becoming confused as their attention is sapped away.
A bunch of more goodies!(I have no idea what they added as "more goodies." No site I've found seems to have a full log of changes, just this vague description)
I guess this game was pretty cool. Managing space was a bitch though. If you placed your initial rooms incorrectly then you were fucked because the area you got wasn't exactly square or that big. Also the power generators took up a lot of space which was annoying.
Nuclear Power Generators took up next to no space I ended up deleting one power station outright to add more useful shit because I could cram 6 Nuclear Generators into the space 3 normal ones too
I'd pay $30 for Evil Genius 2 even if it was on the same engine, as long as it had a sandbox mode
Eli Barracuda, motherfuckers! Best henchman ever.
Who needs Eli when you can have the worlds smoothest motherfucker, Lord Kane? This bitch was even responsible for the Hindenburg, and his suave psychological tricks will beat the shit out of any agent who speaks shit about your base.
Eli Barracuda, motherfuckers! Best henchman ever.
Everyone knows Red Ivan is the best Henchman, who will totally not blow up half your base and kill the majority of your minions on the same side of the island as him:
Everyone knows Red Ivan is the best Henchman, who will totally not blow up half your base and kill the majority of your minions on the same side of the island as him:
I always got Red Ivan only because I couldn't stand having the Matron in my army. The special agents do less harm to my base than Ivan itself :v: I always have to micromanage him.
I hope there is a second one, I loved the first one but felt there was much more things that needed to be added to the game. Also a lot of issues, especially with traps that needed to be fixed.

Modding Red Ivan with machineguns is necessary if you value your workforce.
I always liked: So catchy. I would sit at the menu screen just to listen to it.
Modding Red Ivan with machineguns is necessary if you value your workforce.
I hadn't realized there was a mod for that. That would actually make me consider using him. Looks like a few of the mods don't work anymore, the links to them are gone.
I got this game the day my first dog died, somehow it made everything so much better. Helped me through it a lot. I forgot this game even existed. I want a second one.
I remember at one point i had a mod that made Guard Minions wear a yellow uniform to match Construction workers, anyone know where to get it? I can't find it.
"I'M INSANE!" The fucking Butcher, chaps. He's just so happy! I actually did a cosplay of our dear megalomaniacal doctor and a few people recognised me. Evil Genius is fanny central, let me tell you. [sp]his name is also Ethan Asia so y'know[/sp]
Also look at this its a complete patch for the steam version includes: unofficial patch, both the us and eu patches handpicked to work, and the bonus cd http://www.gamefront.com/files/20273219/Evil_Genius_Steam_Patch_7z [editline]3rd April 2013[/editline] overwrite all files in install directory to work
The Butcher along with Jubei is one of my favourite Henchmen. Edit: Should I upload my No Rock mod and my balance mods plus other fixes on my dropbox?
I'd pay $30 for Evil Genius 2 even if it was on the same engine, as long as it had a sandbox mode
I would probably pay closer to $60 for a Evil Genius sequel. I remember spending tons of time on this when I was younger, I haven't played it in in over 5 years.
I've never used the Butcher before, normally i go for Colonel Blackheart and the Matron.
The Butcher has an amazing mele attack, I used Red Ivan as a distraction whenever large assault squads attacked my island, the Butcher can after easily sneak behind the enemy squad and literaly "butcher" them (because of his fast melee attack). He can also use an ability to camouflage himself, as he sings no enemies are going to attack him, it's pretty usefull when you need to get rid of some pesky veterans.
