What is it?
Hatred fills your whole body. You’re sick and tired of humanity’s worthless existence. The only thing that matters is your gun and the pure Armageddon that you want to unleash. You will go out for a hunt, and you will clear the New York outskirts of all humans with cold blood. You will shoot, you will hurt, you will kill, and you will die. There are no rules, there is no compassion, no mercy, no point in going back. You are the lord of life and death now - and you have full control over the lives of worthless human scum. You will also run, you will need to think, you will need to hide and fight back when armed forces come to take you down. You will have no mercy for them, because they dare to stand in your way. Only brutality and destruction can cleanse this land. Only a killing spree will make you die spectacularly and go to hell.
About this game Hatred is a game about murdering innocent civilians with a wide range of weapons, think about postal but with a new engine. You can get this game on steam! http://store.steampowered.com/app/341940/
It looks fairly boring but I actually like the aesthetics and graphical style. I expected far worse.
I think there's already a thread for this, but I am not certain.
Finally I can become the edy angsty teenager of my dreams. Why did I buy this.
Oh hey, it came out on the same day as my birthday :V
I think there's already a thread for this, but I am not certain.
There is, but the opening post wasn't exactly made in a very serious manner about what the game was.
I think there's already a thread for this, but I am not certain.
Yes, but this one's better.
Warning for German and Australian gamers. It seems Valve has region locked the game, not the developers. https://steamcommunity.com/app/341940/discussions/0/613958868375502885/#c615085406671753648
The game is pretty hard, for instance you rarely get executions in police fights causing you to die very quickly.
How is the replay value? Does completing a level give some sort of score based on how fast and brutal you did things? The game has an arcade appeal to me, but my purchase isn't 100% thing just yet.
As far as I know, there's no scoring system, unless you count completing the objectives as getting score. I'm not too sure about replayability. A friend of mine claims that police spawning is randomized, but I'm not entirely sure he has played the game.

Cons: From a high-end computer that max everything else, this game gives me 20-40 fps on both lowest and highest settings (fatal erros, CTD:s, fps drops, minor freezes). The controles can be very wonky, especially when the crosshair is so small during intense scenes because you can not see it properlly. No raw mouse input, instead they're using mouse smoothing that causes delays. Accuracy in this game is suprisingly important actually. Camera movement isn't that very good, and it's alot worse when you aim and walk down. Sometimes during close quater combat it's difficult to see if you can shoot the hostile or not. The game's short, but it does have a game content which is re-playable (hack'n'slash type). More weapons please, and maybe even abilities? Pros: Satisfying therapy method with great action and combat system, the weapons feel heavy and powerfull and you can really feel (and bodily see) the difference between them, use them wisely for different types of situations. The graphics could be improved but it's extreme physics and optimized texture and shadow shaders it's negative performance can be forgivable (it's still early released, give them time to fix). Brutality at it's finest. Yes the execution cinematics are limited but not that much, people exegurate alot. Every single weapon incl. the knife has approx: 5-10 ways to kill people. The cringy edgy dialogue is so bad it's frickin great, turns a massacre simulator into a fucking parade filled with clowns. Hope there's mods so I can add a fedora and kill ponies. I give it an 6.5/10 If they fix it (which is just minor things) I'd raise it to a 7/10 If I were you I would give it some time
If they release modding tools and optimize shit a bit more, I reckon this game could be a solid 8.
I think they mentioned modding support at some point.
Yea the performance is ass currently. I'm at army base and boy it's fucking hard in Extreme Difficulty.
Finally managed to beat [sp]the army base[/sp], after so many restarts, because I couldn't find out how to blow up the statues.. Only one respawn for me. Then during the cutscene, the game decided to think I'm dead, presenting me with the restart/respawn screen. I clicked restart, thinking I could just load the next level.. Nope, can't save the game before the cutscene is over, the game is too hardcore. I really should have just waited the cutscene out, but I panicked, oh well..
I've completed game on Hard, even though it is really short I've enjoyed every single moment of it. May try to play it on extreme later, however the only time I had any problems with the difficulty was in the city (level 5 I guess). Been cornered way too many times + 20 FPS were not helping (FYI city has the worst performance out of all maps, normally I run this on Ultra @ 40-60). I see couple of you had problems with the army base, yet I found it relatively easy... May I ask you if you have been playing on a gamepad or keyboard+mouse? Personally, I've used kb+m, which allowed me to abuse a bit longer ranged combat (you could shot above certain things if your crosshair was further than the target, allowed to snipe some people in half-cover). Oh, btw. Completing the game further acknowledged me that Total Biscuit suck at video games... He was complaining that game is hard and unforgiving, that you die very quickly and can't do anything about that + cars are deadly and almost unavoidable... All of these concerns are easily avoidable just by looking at the minimap/radar thingy in bottom left of your screen, as it shows you vehicles, armed people, unarmed ones and weapon locations. I thought it was super obvious, more so than using WASD keys to move around, especially with all these grenades and rocket launchers laying around...[/sp]
[sp]Those fucking Humvees and INSANE amount of marines[/sp] rushing at you in Extreme difficulty is just painful as hell, but fun challenge.
I actually had an absolute blast. Beat it in one sitting, 5 hours. On Easy, granted... but, the pre-reviews said it was difficult and it wasn't, really. A lot of it is pretty brutal, especially when you [sp]ram a MG SWAT truck into the train depot and mow down all the incoming cops[/sp] Though, I wish it was a bit more optimized. Running on a GTX970 and its about 35-40. Which is playable, mind you, but sometimes when it gets to a be clusterfuck it can lag or freeze sometimes. THE DESTRUCTION THOUGH holy shit, its so fun to just blow up everything. Died in multiple explosions.

I seem to be the only person not experiencing lag with this game.
I'm enjoying it, playing it on hard and just taking it for what it is: a dumb shooter. My biggest complaint is the performance though - like seriously.
For an authentic experience I suggest making a playlist that consists of Drowning Pool, Linkin Park, Escape The Fate, Marilyn Manson, and Slipknot. Then you're all set to truly experience this game.
Yeah, I was playing on low destruction setting, hoping to get some more frames, didn't help much, so I upped the setting, now the statues blew up easy.
I put the Shadows down to High and my frames shot up instantly. Try taking your Shadows down a notch.
Finished it in little over two hours. Pretty damn short, but I'm likely going to spend another three hours getting all the achievements and some more time fucking around with the destruction. Really hope some modding support arrives for this though, it feels like the exact kind of game that requires mods to survive past the first week of release. But yeah as far as anyone is concerned this is literally just Postal HD.
I wish this game were called "Beta Uprising" instead.

This game is GOTY. [editline]1st June 2015[/editline] Bought a copy for my grandma and she loves it too.
Yeah no way I can play this yet. About 15 FPS on the lowest settings
