[release]What is Killing Floor?
Killing Floor is a pseudo-horror survival game in which you take the role of some wankers to shoot bloody big guns at a bunch of bloody Millwall fans in Croydon, on a Friday night.
The game is focused around 6 player coop in which you and a team of mercenaries hired by British Government take on up to 10 waves of oncoming enemies, gradually getting harder. You earn money from kills, and spend it on sodding big guns to take on the oncoming horde of Zeds.
There is a feature called ZED-time, which makes everything awesome and cool – slows down the game for a few seconds and lets you gather your senses too.[/release]
[release]What are these “Zeds” you speak of, what do they do?
Simple really, these guys are all fur-coat no knickers. They’re the genetically mutated horde of enemies produced by Horizine, these bloody idiots have taken over Britain – and it’s your job to wipe them out.

Some extra details in order of appearance:
• THE CLOT This little bugger grabs you and wont let go, making you have to kill or stun him to get away - deadly if you're in a rush but mostly these guys become target practice as you mow down the other enemies, however he's still a force to be reckoned with.
• THE GOREFAST Moves quick, attacks quickly and damages heavily - overall a target you want to take out before he starts running at you like the gormless tosser he is. Can be the bane of a last man standing and while he has similar uselessness like the clot, is still a force to be reckoned with.
• THE BLOAT Bullet Sponge, pukes acid, nothing special really just a slow moving acid bomb you don't want to get close to this guy and as with every enemy, still needs a tab kept on him. (I'm going to stop saying this now on every enemy in this game can and will kill you.
• THE CRAWLER This little fucker is probably one of the most annoying cunts in the entire game, seriously – they’re lower than every other enemy, jump at you and claw off your face, and because of this – become very difficult to shoot. Not only that, but because they can spawn in vents and so forth – they appear ALL THE TIME, IN THE WORST PLACES IMAGINABLE, especially when you choose Berserker thinking "Why did I stop playing this class I remember it being quite powerful"
• THE STALKER These guys can cloak and move fairly quickly, they do a fair amount of damage but because they stick out so much to somebody that has a keen eye. They have fairly low health and are incredibly easy to deal with, surprisingly though they deal quite a small amount of damage compared to the Gorefast. Easy to deal with. Commandos have the ability to spot this enemy at a further range.
• THE SIREN The bane of every match ever. These bitches have high health and a long attack range and also destroy grenades and projectiles in mid air - basically they will fuck you and you team up with her wide angled cone attack that drains your health, blurs your vision and plays a fucking obnoxious sound. Deal with her as soon as you see her.
• THE HUSK Oh, this guy – spawns from round 2 and shoots fire. Do not under-estimate the powers of a husk, their aim is dead-on and the flames are a nuisance to anyone under a large amount of attack from enemies.
• THE SCRAKE This guy is the 3rd toughest enemy in the game, wielding a chainsaw and having a large amount of health makes him quite deadly, however it is best to take him out from a distance, with a weapon such as a crossbow, AA12s can tank them, but only on lower difficulties (such as 3 player hard difficulty, or normal difficulty). Berserkers do have the ability to stun them, this is usually the favoured tactic.
Has a resistance to explosives.
THE FLESHPOUND This guy takes the most firepower, a slow walking (until enraged) enemy that has meat grinders for arms, only weakness is explosive weapons and sheer firepower, even then that’s barely enough as when he becomes enraged you best evacuate your current area, or engage him – either way you’re probably screwed. Two usually spawn on round ten. Favoured tactic of slaughter is a crossbow from a distance.
THE PATRIARCH This guy is the boss, the big baddie, the end of the game – for you or him – there is no way out. Has a chain-gun and a rocket launcher for an arm, yeah, that’s right. He can cloak and regenerate health as he sends out his minions to fight, has a powerful melee attack and runs very fast when cloaked. He will tear you apart and has no weakness other than constant firepower. Entire team needs to be dedicated to taking him down.
Favoured methods of annihilation is pipe bombs (do not group pipes close together as this dampens the effectiveness of them) + explosives, medic crossbow combinations and sheer firepower.

Some notes in order of appearance:
•Medic, who can heal his teammates with great efficiency, and has stronger combat armour - also runs quicker.
•Support Specialist, who uses shotguns and specializes on welding doors. They also get more carrying weight.
•Sharpshooter, who uses accurate weapons and specializes on taking out specific targets.
•Commando, who uses rapid fire weapons such as ak-47's, and can see enemy health and cloaked stalkers.
•Berserker, who uses melee weapons rather than guns. He's quite fast and can stun specimens when he's a high enough level.
•Firebug, who specializes on making everything burn to a crisp. He also gets fire grenades mixed in with explosives, after a recent update gets the coolest weapons in the game - a trench shotgun with Dragon's-breath and FLARE REVOLVERS.
•Demolitions, who gets the weapons that are great at making big explosions. They have the downside of being rather expensive and causing large smoke clouds to appear - this is sometimes dangerous for players that are holding out as it disrupts vision.

Have they added any new content to the game after the Christmas update?
Kinda bored with KF because the core game gets monotonous after you play it long enough (200+ hours)

Currently at 300 hours I believe; still enjoying the game. Take a break, you'll get back into it later. Ever tried achievement hunting?

Modded servers can keep you amused for atleast another thousand hours.
Are there any guides to adding custom weapons to your offline games? The workshop doesn't seem to let you use them once you've downloaded them.
-snip-
So... is there a mod to replace the ZED gun's radar beep with the radar beep from Aliens?
Zombie, mind adding the Aliens mod to the OP? I think it at least deserves a mention.
Got a guess pass from a friend. The game is really freaking awesome, and that's saying much since I don't really like zombie survival kind of games. Shame that it's a tad bit expensive, but it's worth the money.

I bought if for 2,69€ when it was on a crazy sale. Just wait for next big sales week, old games such as Killing Floor get big offs.

I bought Killing Floor few months after the initial release and I have to say that it was my best purchase that I ever made. I spent about 300 hours now over all that time, the constant updates and small additions made it really worth it. Besides it has the best voice actors in the universe. I bought it for 17€.
Although I have to say that I always play with friends of mine which makes it exponationally more awesome.
I bought it about a month after launch.. I think, for about £20.
Never regretted it.
cheesedelux from here gifted it for me two years ago.
Since then I have played it for 210 hours and it has became my favorite mp game ever.
Gotta love dying an embarrassing death with so little left on HoE's last round...

It's worth a lot more than what ever it's going for now that's for sure. I bought it new for the full price back in 09 and iv'e got thousands of hours out of it in return. It's one of the best games to kill time with, hell i haven't played it since December but i leave it installed because it's one of the few games that you just get drawn back to after a while.
I should back to play this. I left to level up the firebug and the demo to be LV6.

But yeah. KF will definitely have a better launch than RO2 did. They've learned their lessons on releasing early.
Man RO2 was a mess.
But will KF2 transfer all of my DLCs? I would like to play as the robot in hi-poly.
I imagine it's not much of a tough call to transfer them since they probably have all the highpoly meshes still lying in their folders. I can see them doing it.

Nah, I don't think anything like that is going to happen, seeing as they've gotten slightly avid recently.
Nitpicky things I want in a KF sequel:
1. Being able to see my legs
2. Unique view models for each character instead of 1 that's textured differently
3. People's mouths moving when they say something
Man RO2 was a mess.
What happened with RO2?
RO2 had an incredibly buggy launch that took quite a while to fix.

This, I fucking love that robot.
That KF2 Steam database entry is now called DLC2 early access.
Tripwire Community manager says it was a mistake:
