He probably kept the point gained from level 5 and used it on the ultimate when he got to level 6.

why is COTS leveled at the end of the game when it has nearly no effect late game. and why is glaives lvled more than once early when your int is piss poor till you get some ganks/items.

or if you get a lot of experience all of a sudden and get two levels

Or maybe he was in a fight wherein he got enough XP to boost him from 4 to 6? Seems logical, since when you're in the middle of a fight you don't normally stop to level your skills since a lot of shit can happen in a second or two. I know sometimes I've come out of fights 2 levels higher, though normally it happens with teamfights and on occasion it happens after the two enemy heroes in my lane get pounded into the ground. It happens, bro.
