Hearthstone is a card game developed by Blizzard, with one Expansion, Goblins Versus Gnomes (GvG), and two Adventures, Curse of Naxxramas (Naxx) and Blackrock Mountain (BRM), and another Expansion coming out in August titled The Grand Tournament. Hearthstone and the expansions are fully free to play, however card packs can be purchased if willing using in-game currency called Gold or real-life money. Card packs guarantee at least one card of Rare quality but does not guarantee any further value.
There are 5 card rarities: Basic, Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. Each card in the game can be crafted using dust. Dust is collected by disenchanting cards you no longer wish to use/have spares of or by getting it at random as a reward from The Arena.
The game features 9 total classes, each based on a class from World of Warcraft. Each class has its own "hero power", which is a special power that class can use every turn at the cost of 2 mana. The hero powers fit the class, for example: Priest can heal his own minions or even himself, while the shaman can make totems that do various things depending on the type of totem.

HEROES:

Druid Hero Power:
Gives 1 attack and 1 armor. The Armor gained by Hero Power stacks with other Armor effects and is not lost at the end of your turn; however, the attack damage is only available for the turn the Hero Power is used.
Notable cards:
Force of Nature:

While only 6 damage by itself, it's very scary with...
Savage Roar:

Buffs all friendly characters means it includes your hero too. Without any minions on the board, the two together give you 14 damage (Counting your hero). This puts you on a timer to win before they draw both these cards in most matches.
Innervate:

You gain two mana crystals, but only on the turn you play it. For example, at 2 mana you could play a 4 mana creature or spell if you use this card. You could also, for example, play a 9-mana creature on turn 10, Innervate, then play a 3-mana anything. IF YOU HAVE FULL MANA, ALWAYS PLAY A CARD BEFORE USING INNERVATE.
Wild Growth:

You gain an empty mana crystal when you play this. So if you had 2 mana, you'd have 4 the next turn if you play this. This is a permanent effect, and lets you get very scary cards out fast! Combined with Innervate, it can be super scary to a druid who can play many high cost cards in quick succession while you're stuck with 3 mana. IF YOU HAVE FULL MANA WITH THIS CARD, PLAYING IT WILL GIVE YOU A CARD CALLED EXCESS MANA INSTEAD.

Hunter Hero Power:
Deal 2 damage to the enemy hero. Bypasses taunt and only works on the enemy hero. The only way hunter can use his ability on minions is Steamwheedle Sniper.

Notable cards:
Kill Command:

One of hunter's biggest finishers. If they have a beast out (Webspinner, Savannah Highmane, Animal Companion , and many others), it deals a whopping 5 damage to any target of their choice. Combined with hunter's hero power, he can easily burst you down if you don't play carefully.
Savannah Highmane:

One of the best minions in the game. It is one of the best value cards in the game. Compare it to Boulderfist Ogre, a 6-7. Highmane has 2 less health, but if its deathrattle goes off then it basically is a 10-9. Silence, Polymorph, or Hex is the best way to rid of it.
Unleash the Hounds:

Summons a 1-1 with charge for each enemy minion in play. Don't play too many minions if you fear a hunter has this card in his hand and you have no good taunts in play to defend yourself. This card can either be used for huge damage or as a decent board clear.

Mage Hero Power
Deal 1 damage to any minion.
Unlike Rogue and Druid hero powers, this hero power goes through taunt and doesn't require you taking damage.
Notable cards:
Mana Wyrm:

A great opening card for a mage, this minion can quickly spiral out of control if not removed early leading to big damage or a form of removal blown on it. ALL SPELLS CAST BY THIS MINION'S OWNER INCREASES ITS ATTACK. THIS INCLUDES THE COIN.
Water Elemental:

A solid body with the benefit of Freezing anything it attacks. Freeze causes a character, which includes heroes and minions, to be unable to attack for their next turn unless silenced. Hero Powers can still be used while frozen.
Sorcerer's Apprentice:

This little PIECE OF SHIT reduces the cost of all spells for the mage by 1. This effect stacks, so a potential 4 Sorcerer's Apprentices can reduce the cost of a Fireball to 0 mana. TAKE THIS SHIT OUT QUICKLY IF YOU'RE FACING A MAGE OR THEY'LL PROBABLY SPAM YOU TO DEATH WITH SPELLS.
Archmage Antonidas:

Casting ANY spell while Antonidas is on the board will give its controller a Fireball spell. These Fireballs can spawn more Fireballs. Killing Antonidas should be a priority unless you want to eat several Fireballs until you die.

Paladin Hero Power:
Reinforce summons a Silver Hand Recruit, with 1 attack and 1 health.
This card works fantastically with Quartermaster. All your 1-1's will become 3-3s, which is VERY strong. You can trade with his board a lot easier, or even go for lethal potentially.
Notable cards:
Equality:

A staple in Paladin's removal spells, it's not very impressive on its own. However, when you pair it with...
Consecration:

it becomes a great spell for removing all of your opponent's minions. Unless their minions have Divine Shield, they WILL die. This spell also hits the opponent's hero, dealing 2 damage to them as well.
Tirion Fordring:

THE Paladin Legendary, he's a staple in NEARLY every Paladin deck. A decent body, with an incredibly powerful deathrattle, Tirion WILL eat a silence, Polymorph, or Hex if the opponent has any. On the off chance that he doesn't, you get a decently strong minion and a great weapon when he dies.

Priest Hero Powers:
Heal a character for 2. This doesn't work on minions at full health, as its not a buff.
This power lets you get efficient trades. For example:
Your 3-4 hits his 3-2. Now your minion is low health and can die to pretty much anything. If you heal it, it can potentially trade with another minion and live again or at least eat a spell.
Notable cards:
Holy Nova:

Heals your hero and minions for 2 while damaging your opponent's minions and their hero for 2. Spellpower increasing effects will increase the DAMAGE, but NOT the HEALING.
Mind Control:

THE Priest spell. Be very careful about leaving big or valuable minions lingering around as the game goes on, as they are more likely to get Mind Controlled if the Priest is running any Mind Controls at all.
Prophet Velen:

He's ok, not really used by many Priest decks outside of a gimmicky burst Priest involving the use of Velen with Mind Blast.

Auchenai Soulpriest:

This reverses the effect of all of your healing, meaning your hero power is now deals 2 damage. Holy Nova will deal 2 damage to you and your minions now though. Combine with Circle of Healing for ghetto board clear.

Rogues have a unique mechanic to some of their cards known as Combos. Combos give cards additional effects if other cards are played first in a turn.

Rogue Hero Power:
Creates and equips a 1 attack and 2 durability dagger.
This dagger can be boosted using spells such as Tinker's Sharpsword Oil and Deadly Poison, and some minions such as Goblin Autobarber.
Notable cards:
Blade Flurry:

This is a Rogue's primary board clear, but try to use it on weapons with only one attack left on them. With weapons with durability greater than 1, attack first, then Blade Flurry if possible. Don't hesitate to use Blade Flurry if you're worried you'll die by attacking first.
Sap:

Tell that Priest that buffed up his Deathlord to a 4/48 to eat shit as you shove it back into his hand. Great and cheap removal for any kind of threats, but try to save it for big threats.
Edwin VanCleef:

A minion with the potential to grow into a huge threat. Coining him out turn 2 makes him a 4/4, and he can be a 6/6 if you can combo your cards well on turn 3. Very vulnerable to silences.

Shaman Hero Power:
Summons a random totem.
Totems include:
A 0-2 with taunt (this minion MUST be attacked directly with minions and weapons).
A 0-2 that heals all friendly minions for 1 health at the end of every turn.
A 1-1 totem.
A 0-2 totem that boost all spell damage by +1.
Notable cards:
Rockbiter Weapon:

Use it on friendly minions to help deal more damage, or cast it on your face to maybe help create a minion advantage for yourself. Great when used on...
Al'Akir the Windlord:

Shit stats but great effects. Turn 10 Al'Akir with two Rockbiters is 18 damage to the enemy hero with no taunts blocking him. He's the source of much of the shaman's late game burst.
Whirling Zap-o-matic:

Great minion to get out early, do the same combo as Al'Akir but just 7 turns earlier and with a bit of setup time. TAKE THIS SHIT OUT IMMEDIATELY IF A SHAMAN PLAYS IT.

Warlock Hero Power:
Draw a card at the cost of two health and two mana.
While, to an inexperienced player, this would seem bad, its actually arguably the strongest hero power in the game. Being able to draw a card whenever you want opens Warlock up to both aggro and control in many ways.
Notable cards:
Lord Jaraxxus:

EREDAR LORD OF THE BURNING LEGION. This card is essentially a heal if you play it below 15 health, and grants you a new hero power. INFERNO, the new hero power, creates a 6/6 Infernal at the cost of 2 mana. Lord Jaraxxus can be played as a safety card to maybe buy yourself a few more turns or as a way to pressure your opponent into folding by making them face an onslaught of Infernals. You also get a 3/8 weapon called Blood Fury.
Mal'Ganis:

Incredibly strong, while Mal'Ganis is alive you will take no damage from anything. Solid body, insane effect, and high target priority makes him great if you can cheat him, or any other sort of valuable demon, out with...
Voidcaller:

Get a Mal'Ganis out on turn 5! Get Jaraxxus out and use him as a meatshield! Voidcaller is the Warlock class challenge reward from the Curse of Naxxramas and lets Warlock players cheat out high cost or detrimental demons very early, since demons summoned from Voidcaller's deathrattle do not trigger their battlecries but keep any other effects they may have.

Warrior Hero Power:
Armor Up gives the player 2 armor on himself. This synergizes with Shield Slam, which deals 1 damage per armor you have to a minion. Armor, in essence, is "overheal", allowing Warriors to obtain a maximum amount of health that is greater than 30.

Notable cards:
Grommash Hellscream:

Trigger his enrage before attacking to deal a huge amount of burst damage to an opponent.
Armorsmith:

Getting one armor for every time your one of your minions are damaged is a great way to build up an early health lead without having to invest 2 mana into Armor Up! Combo Armorsmith with a Whirlwind for a lot of armor in a single turn.

Frothing Berserker and Warsong Commander:

Warsong Commander will give any minion you summon with 3 or less attack Charge, which lets them attack the turn they're played. Combine that with Frothing Berserker, plenty of Whirlwinds, and other ways of damaging minions and you've got yourself a One-Turn-Kill waiting to happen. Isn't it great?

Oh my god, that guys laugh.
I wonder if he realizes the mic is picking it up?
Yeah, let's buff facehuntard with a spell giving them more shit for using more spells!

Hope you guys like Handlock/Warlock in general because now they have a new Giant to play!
The crowd booing about the Hunter card was hilarious.
The crowd booing about the Hunter card was hilarious.
I could've sworn I heard someone say "This is so stupid" during that booing/groaning
Lock and Load doesn't seem like it'd work in Face Hunter, but it's still really fucking good. Good enough to buff Hunter in arena by a million.

Shaman is saved!

Oh shit they're playing a best of 3 I give up trying to document all the cards :v:
I'll leave it to reddit
Now maybe control hunter can be more viable!
I could've sworn I heard someone say "This is so stupid" during that booing/groaning
Because it is, it gives facehunter more shit for using spells. And it's a deck filled with spells. It's a snowball spell for a deck with ridiculous face damage and cheap spells.
Sooo, they are pushing ping mage. Okay

And the stream died. Way to go Blizzard!
Oh and the stream died
