Ark Survival V.1 - Now 40% less likely to melt your GPU! - Games

Watching gameplay from streams, everything about this game looks awful from what I thought it would be, thoughts? [IMG] http://i59.tinypic.com/5yz13r.png[/IMG] like wat, character making is like reign of kings, shit is stupid.

Checked out a stream for curiosity, holy shit it does look really bad.

They werent there, when the dumbass-marketing class learned about timing. They would have waited till the game is ready, so they can hype it, then fuck everyone with the badass pictures.

I dont like the idea of leveling to get bp's. I kind of think its going to turn into a game called 7 ways to die and be more focused on pve.

yeah I was hype about this then I watched streams and it looks awful. not touching it til people give feedback, and only then will I make a choice.

I'm tempted to buy it cause it's cheap anyway just to test it bud god, my expectations were sky high until I watched gameplay.

I guess I have the opposite opinion of a lot of you. The game looks pretty good with friends, the dinosaurs look pretty good.

Why are people surprised that an early-access game looks like it's still in development?

And yeah, the person from TSL (Vlad) is now working for The Isle, so they're allowed to use their models. Ark stole their concept and bragged about it.

Turok will remain the best dinosaur game to date.

Primal Carnage and PC: Extinction are fun, but PC has been abandoned in a super buggy state, and while I think PC:E's bugs have been mostly ironed out, its community is so untoxic it's terrible. It's an FPS but the only populated servers are no-kill roleplay servers and one server running a bad DM map 24/7, it's awful. I think they've been working on it for six months so far? It has a lot of interesting ideas like dinosaur mutations in the vein of RPG classes, so it's not just another survival game. Also it has Dondi, who is clearly the coolest Primal Carnage dev, despite his insatiable lust for nerfing the Dilophosaurus.

What is it with dinosaur survival games having awesome trailers and promo images, but when they actually come out, they look nothing like what we were shown. Same thing happened with The Stomping Lands. Apparently the footage shown on the Kickstarter page looked a hell of a lot better and actually had more features than the game we got. If the game becomes as awesome as the screenshots imply it is, it might be worth checking out. As for now, it just looks like Reign of Kings and Stomping Lands had a baby.

C:DHR is just that, a remake, and it's pretty good for what it's trying to do.

Seeing as there's modding support, I suppose a mod to remove that disgusting neon text at the top could be made, or even make a better hud.

What they showed in the trailer looked great and it seemed like it would be quite a more serious, immersive game. The text font and colours, character creation, some of the animations, levels above everything and a few other things do not fit in at all and make it seem like a completely different game than the trailer suggested. Hopefully those things get fixed.

It's probably all placeholder anyway. Remember how awful 7 Days to Die used to look? Now look at it today, and there's a huge difference.

a lot of early access games have terrible UIs. I dare say Naval Action OW has a worse placeholder UI than this and that game is fantastic overall. Isn't this coming out today on steam? It might be worth watching who knows.

Well it's on Early Access for a reason but it does look disappointing after the rather good looking announcement trailer.

A lot of streamers are playing on low currently because the game isn't optimized yet. Devs are trying to update every 2 days, so there is some hope that it'll get better slowly with big fixes coming over time.

I dunno, I've been watching Sam Strippin streaming it, and it looks alright for a game that's not even in early access.

Tbh the only thing I saw that was bad is how badly optimized it is. Like a streamer with a gtx 980 couldn't even get 60 fps at ultra. Gameplay looks goofy fun with friends, but I'm not gonna buy it until I see it's getting updated and improved.
