So we all know that The Division had a massive graphics downgrade during development...
Now the game has been added to steam with the "Good Graphics" screenshots, do you guys think that the game will have the good graphics, or the bad graphics?
Examples?
You mean like the game Watch Dogs?
i have had my hopes let down because of pre-release footage i.e. colonial marines
Knowing Ubishit and the letdown incarnate that was Watchdogs, AND Uplay being a piece of shit, I don't care about that game or any other of theirs

I agree.
I did preorder Watchdogs back in the day, as it looked amazing, especially due to the first E3 "gameplay" trailer.
What I got was laggy and unoptimized mess, with plentiful of graphical features turned off (they were still in the game, Ubisoft stated otherwise), online being fucked up due to lots of networking issues... actually, I had network issues in ALL of the uplay related games that I own (Watchdogs, The Crew, Anno 2070).
So yeah, fuck Ubisoft and Uplay, they won't be getting a single penny from me anymore. I'm not going to waste another 5 hours on a single game to figure out how to make online work, as everything is working fine in all other games but theirs.
the multiplayer issues sound like something on your end, i never had a problem with it.
also, if you retards are judging whether a game will be good or not based on the graphics, fuck you. that's exactly what's wrong with the industry, everyone knows gameplay comes first, not how the goddamn game looks. watch_dogs was a fine game, sure it looked different than the trailers showed off, but i had fun playing it. the division looks neat as well, and co-op is hardly ever a bad thing.
yes, u-play is cancer, but technically so is steam. shit sucks, deal with it.
still bummed how... flat the interface is now
it used to be really nice and diegetic
I have very little hope for the high optimization of this game.
It's Ubisoft.
I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't have a problem with UPlay, like seriously, what is wrong it?
UPlay isn't really a big problem for consoles. Most people that complain about it are PC gamers.
they bitch about it because it's their own version of steam and isn't necessary, just like origin.
I don't get it though, Steam has the most players attached to it, why would you be so against putting your game on it? just to avoid fees? But then they spend money developing a separate digital distribution system, which can't be less expensive than just biting the bullet and throwing your game on steam.

It used to be, companies would show pre-rendered footage to hype their games, but it was obvious that the games were not going to look like that. People would get angry about it sometimes, but generally it was obvious that it was promotional material. Now a days, its harder, because a lot of studios use what they call "in-game" footage to advertise the game and it is much harder to tell that what your seeing is not an accurate portrayal of the final product.
My point is, it's shadier than it's ever been, and ubisoft needs to learn to promote their games realistically, without temporarily beautifying their games to make a larger initial impression. It's scummy and dishonest.

I had a lecture in uni from an ex-ubisoft dev about how the ui developed over the last couple of years, was pretty neat
