I honestly didn't know where else to post this (the actual games thread looks pretty derelict compared to here), so sorry if I put this in the wrong section, scold me if you want, it ain't the first time. Moving on. If this is TL;DR then just go to the link posted below, download and play.
I'm a grad student at UT Dallas, and we have a thing every semester called "Game Lab" where a student pitches a game, and we spend 3 months developing a finished, shippable game, which we aren't selling because beta. The game I want you guys to play is called "Push and Pull", a 2.5 side scrolling platformer. The website is below, has the download link. I was officially an environment artist on this game, but I also ended up making at least half the assets for it. Level 3 was my assigned level but I also heavily revised level 1 and 5, made water/lava effects, many other small things.
This game is in BETA still, so there are still a lot of placeholder things (like sound effects). We had me and 29 other students, which was the largest in Game Lab history. We had to cut a lot of content just to finish the game. It did manage to make it to a decently well known convention (at least in Texas) called SGC (website: http://www.sgconvention.com/about), and got overall very positive reviews, and may be even looking into being published officially. If you guys all hate it and have criticism, fine! IMO [CONSTRUCTIVE] criticism is the best thing I could ask for, next to actually getting hired at a job. Just try to be decent humans about it, please, and try to just have fun. We all worked very hard on it. Okay, time to shut up now. Download and play if you want! Enjoy!! :)

Holy shit, from video it looks nice, reminds me of Little big Planet and that is my favorite kind of game (too bad it's PS exclusive).
Gonna post back soon.
Edit:
Just finished it.
I like it, I like the art style of it, the characters are cool, any chance the last character was inspired by Big Hero?
Not really sure if all level music fits, but level where you rescue magnet character, that level music seems to be most matching.
Also the thing that bugged me personally most is the movement/response of character, it felt like there is big delay between pressing A/D movement key and character to actually move.
P.S - I am not any kind of game critic, I fiddled with Unity before few times, made some progress but then gave up, I am just expressing my personal thought on it.
I would love to see it getting bigger and longer with more plot, traps and challanges.
Well done.
still pissed the closest thing to littlebigplanet for PC is battleblock theater
The art style looks good at least. Did you make it?

If you read the OP, he did some art for the game.

Hey NerdPest.
While I didn't *officially* have a lead art position, I essentially filled that role. I was assigned as environment artist for level 3 only and that is it. But I was the only 3D artist who didn't have anything going on outside school. So, I finished Level 3 very quickly and began filling other roles. I redid the entire visuals for level 1, made most special effects, made liquid effects, particles, I made the animated tutorials in level 1, I did the model and textures for all push/pull blocks, pull ceilings, wall jumps. I made at least half the textures in the game, and extensively re-did the character textures. My goal became to match the concept art as closely as I could. Don't mind me tooting my own horn, but basically this game would not look anything like it does had I not been on the team. I'm very proud of the work I've done for it.
The water level is fucking with me. Nothing against you OP, it's just fulfilling an industry standard.

Hahah! No offense taken, I didn't design an ounce of the levels, just made them look pretty. Level 4 is visually my favorite.
Does this mean you don't want to help me with my WWII game still?
Just played through it. A lot of talent went into this, for sure. Few gripes, but mostly minor.
I know you're on a time restraint and this is something I'd like to see more of if this were to ever be further developed. Give each character more identity. As is, they're just skins so far as I can tell. Give them all a little something they can do that none of the others can. Adding some sort of quick switch system would allow for some cool stuff later in the game.
Sound design, while mostly on point, can be kind of cluttered. Especially in Level 4 where you get the bass heavy heat spikes overlapping with the dull throb of the pull or Tubs' noises. This is basically just remastering.
As for visuals, it was pretty fantastic overall. Only complaint is the lack of the other characters in the level transitions.
Gameplay was fairly par for the course and aside from being floaty played like a perfectly competent platformer. Only thing I would add if this was more fully developed would be more physics based things. As is, I can pull a block to an edge and it won't fall off. So that'd be something to throw in there.
Overall, this is a fantastic little project and I can't wait to see where you and your classmates end up.

Thank you so much!!! That's what I call good criticism. I'm very excited for the future of this game. I thought it was ending with this but I seem to be wrong.
