What is Invisible Inc?
Invisible, Inc. (originally named as Incognita) is a turn-based tactics, stealth video game incorporating elements of roguelike gameplay, developed by Canadian independent studio Klei Entertainment. In the game, the player acts as the remote operator for an espionage agency that has come under attack from multinational corporations, and direct agents in covert missions as to acquire resources and support to be able to relocate the agency's computer system to a safe haven within a limited amount of time. The game is set in year 2074, after megacorporations have overthrown the world's national governments and taken control. Invisible Inc. is a private intelligence agency providing services to corporations, performing infiltrations using field agents and a sophisticated AI system known as Incognita. At the start of the game, Invisible Inc. is compromised, which leads to the headquarters as well as most agents and assets being lost, with only the agency's leader, two agents, and Incognita escaping. Incognita can only be hosted in extremely powerful computer systems and cannot survive outside of them for more than 72 hours, so it becomes the agency's task to use that time to prepare for their final mission, where they will try to infiltrate the enemy's headquarters to access the computer system and insert Incognita.
Or, in short, Invisible Inc is a cyberpunk turn-based stealth-strategy where you go around buildings and robbing people of their money and intel. It's a heavily iron-man kind of game, meaning that once you lose, you have to start all over-- sometimes meaning you can lose up to hours of work. The game will get harder as you progress through the levels, and you'll have to adjust your playstyle to bigger facilities and tougher security. I adore the art style (Reminds me of Transistor), setting and the XCOM-like strategy.
I adore the art style (Reminds me of Transistor), setting and the XCOM-like strategy.
Oddly enough, the strategy more-so reminds me of, say, Hitman; in the way that you try to stealth but end up massacring everyone on the level anyway.
i've been playing this on and off since it came out on early access forever ago. it's pretty sweet but fuck the difficulty sometimes. straight up go from barely scraping by levels to trying to break in to super fortified... fortresses with essentially the equivalent of first time cat burglars because time goes by so quickly
Klei is my favorite. Shank and Shank II were amazing.
Favorite characters, everyone? Nika & Sharp is my favorite tag team, tbh.
The plot gives me a bit of a Syndicate vibe. Might check this out when I get the chance.
The plot gives me a bit of a Syndicate vibe. Might check this out when I get the chance.
it's definitely worth it-- even if it's indie and mostly unheard of one of the best indies i've played, really. i'd go as far as to rank it over BOI
Favorite characters, everyone? Decker & Sharp is my favorite tag team, tbh.
I'm liking Internationale and Nika, though the management of Nika's taser can be a bit annoying sometimes if you mess up with Incognita.
I'm liking Internationale and Nika, though the management of Nika's taser can be a bit annoying sometimes if you mess up with Incognita.
I see your reasoning with Nika, but why Internationale? Always hated playing as her.
I see your reasoning with Nika, but why Internationale? Though the augment is maybe less useful if you move slower and just check around doors and walls properly.

You see, mine is usually "knock everyone out then run around searching for the exit" yours probably involves things like stealth
Klei is my favorite. Shank and Shank II were amazing.
Same here. They've been putting out a lot of great games.
Gameplay strategies, anyone? I usually like to tackle detention cells first, then hit up cybernetic labs. How about you all?
it's definitely worth it-- even if it's indie and mostly unheard of one of the best indies i've played, really. i'd go as far as to rank it over BOI
Aight, purchased it and did my first playthrough on beginner. Definitely pretty solid game. I enjoyed it. Made some pretty huge blunders in my efforts though, but I reckon I've learnt enough to do better for my next run.
do you have to rescue agents to unlock them? i have almost completed my first playthrough and didnt get any of that mission type

If it weren't for people complaining, we probably would never have beginner/normal mode.
do you have to rescue agents to unlock them? i have almost completed my first playthrough and didnt get any of that mission type
Yeah. They're in detainment cells.
So what's the verdict overall? I haven't really heard much about the game, what makes it fun and makes it stand out?
So what's the verdict overall? I haven't really heard much about the game, what makes it fun and makes it stand out?
It's a turn-based stealth with amazing aesthetic and fun gameplay. Definitely worth buying.
I remember this, cant believe I forgot about it
I remember this, cant believe I forgot about it
Isn't this an oxymoron?
Bought it. The game is friggin' brillant. It really does feel like every single decision matters. Because of circumstances my Decker is now basically Adam Jensen, able to beat the shit out of every single person. He can knock down +2 armored foes for 5 turns. He's basically my mule too because I maxed his strength.
Was nervous as fuck about going Expert but it's actually not that much more difficult since I never used rewind or restarted the level anyway. Been bailing out of levels by the skin of my teeth though. Had to use a courier I found as a decoy to bail my team out through some ridiculous chokepoint of a corridor one level.

I liked that a lot better; the lack of rewinds and all.
This game deserves a lot more exposure. Also, you should buy it because IT IS TIGHT!
How'd you get it to knock him for 5 turns? Augs?
Aug + Maxed Strength + Beginner Mode (Gives +1 KO Time).
Aug + Maxed Strength + Beginner Mode (Gives +1 KO Time).
Hm. I think there's a baton thing that adds +2, but costs a shitton of money.
Just finished my first full run. This game is breddy great. What's your opinion--is Anarchy worth putting points into? I put a couple in so I could use those gadgets that can go through four firewalls at once, but I wonder if those levels might have been more useful elsewhere.
Ugh, jumped straight from Beginner to Expert Iron man and I have a hard time even getting through the first mission when I breezed through the other campaign.
