So I figured there's probably at least some fans (and potentially new ones) of the Rollcage games on here, thus this thread was created.
Rollcage is essentially WipeOut on four wheels.

Rollcage is an arcade-style racing game for Windows and PlayStation, developed by Attention to Detail, and published by Psygnosis. The Windows version was released in the UK on March 24, 1999. The game's selling point was its unique physics engine, in which cars could drive on walls or ceilings due to the airflow passing over them at extreme speeds. The game also featured an original soundtrack by Fatboy Slim and also featured the song "Love Island" from the album You've Come A Long Way, Baby.
The game received positive reviews and ratings on release. A sequel, Rollcage Stage II, was released in 2000 for PlayStation and Windows.
The vehicles in Rollcage are all double sided and can be driven on either side, as well as along walls and ceilings if they're driven fast enough. There are numerous scenery objects and buildings placed throughout the tracks that can be destroyed, either by shooting at them with the weapons you acquire or by driving through them. The explosion caused by the destruction of buildings can be used to both give your vehicle a boost and to hinder your opponents.
The gameplay modes available to choose from are: League, Arcade, Time Attack and Multiplayer, wherein League acts as the main single player component of the game and features successive tournaments, with each tournament being unlocked after successfully finishing in first place in the one before it. When the League mode is completed on Easy difficulty, a Hard difficulty option and a seventh mysterious opponent are unlocked. Completing League again on Hard difficulty unlocks a final difficulty option called Expert and the seventh driver's car for use by the players themselves.

Rob, AKA "Codemonkey", one of the main developers behind both the Rollcage games and GRIP, has released upgraded versions of Rollcage and Stage II, known as Rollcage Redux and Rollcage Extreme.
Some of the improvements include compatibility with modern computers, as well as updated netcode.
They can be downloaded for free from Rob's website.
I'm part of a small, but active Rollcage community. We consist of ~20 people, we play online most saturdays starting at 9PM CEST (mostly Redux), although weekly games also happen sometimes. Occasionally the developers play with us, and we'd very much like it if more people joined us.
There's also a tournament coming up next week, sign up before the 6th of july if you're interested.
There's a spiritual successor to the Rollcage games in development, called "GRIP".

It's currently in Steam Early Access, and can be bought for 14.99 USD. Online multiplayer has not yet been implemented, however it supports splitscreen. So far it's PC exclusive, but if everything goes according to plan it'll also get ported to the PS4 and the Xbox One. It's one of the most technically competent Early Access titles I've ever played, and a worthy successor to the Rollcage franchise.

How did I not know this was a thing, I play rollcage redux at least twice a week :c
GRIP looks awesome!
I just bought GRIP and played it for about two hours today. I loved Rollcage as a kid, but I was never really good at it. I'm still not good at it. In fact, this game requires a fair bit of skill just to avoid flailing about whenever you hit obstacles.
Apart from that, driving around at such high speeds is so satisfying. Maps are great, music is great, and the game is well optimized and runs just fine on lower end systems.
This game is still early access, but based on what content is available so far, I have the utmost confidence that when finished, this will be a quality game.

FFFFFFFFFFF.
Love this, being in the rift makes this insane. I can only JUST bear the speed.
Woo about time someone started one of these.
