oh no why are you reading this again
You're not only dumb but you are out right wrong as well.
why not post this in the csgo thread also you dont get a 24 hour cooldown your first time abandoning so youre lying
Am not. That's exactly what I was saying. The system sucks. I should of gotten a 30min ban. I also didn't notice the thread. I assumed there would've been a subforum.
You're not only dumb but you are out right wrong as well.
How so? I got a faulty 24h ban insted of 30mins, and the menu stopped responding. And no, support can't help: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1203-WJCV-7019 "Steam Support cannot modify a matchmaking ban."
A) You can never get a 24 hour ban for your first abandon B) If your connection fails for half a minute you had another 2 minutes to shut the game down and restart C) Send crash reports if you're really sticking with your story on this one D) Play another game E) next time be honest [editline]22nd May 2014[/editline] Oh and your competitive stats says you died 91 times which is the equivalent of 3 full-fledged games of competitive [editline]22nd May 2014[/editline] and that's giving you the 14-16 or 15-15 round statistic [editline]22nd May 2014[/editline] So yes, to summarize:
You're not only dumb but you are out right wrong as well.

How am I supposed to survive 7 days?
Go back to what you did before playing GO? Also, blame your internet for failing on you. It might seem like no big deal disconnecting for a minute or 2, but it's still very annoying.
The rules are as follows: every cooldown increases the offense level by one level and after cooldown expires and a clean week goes by the offense level goes down by one level. First level offenders receive a 30 min cooldown, second level = 2 hr, third level = 24 hr, fourth and higher levels = 7 days. The confusion might arise for extreme abusers of the system whose offense level went beyond level 4 now. Here's an example: A player reaches offense level 4 and gets their first 7 day cooldown on Jan 1, it expires on Jan 8 -- this means player can play, but their offense level stays at 4 for the duration of one more week. If player commits a competitive offense on Jan 8 then offense level is increased to level 5 and player is penalized with another 7 day cooldown. That cooldown expires on Jan 15 -- again, this means that player can play, but their offense level stays at level 5 for the duration of one more week. So, after the clean week goes by on Jan 22 the offense level goes down by one level to level 4. Committing a competitive offense on Jan 22 will increase it again to level 5 and assign a 7 day cooldown according to the rules listed above. Essentially if you got your second or third 7 day cooldown in a row this means you need to have two or three clean weeks after it expires before it goes down to offense level 3 which is penalized with a 2 hr cooldown. -Vitaliy
Also, here's an explanation from the dev about the cooldown system, so it's in no way possible to be banned for 7 days the second time, nor 24 hours the first.
could of
could have
I know, but it comes naturally.
I know, but it comes naturally.
fuck you sorry that came naturally (User was banned for this post ("Rude" - Craptasket))
that came naturally
So you're naturally a douchebag. Good job. :suicide:
So you're naturally a douchebag. Good job. :suicide:
hey gurl I know these guys are being mean if you want you can come to my place and we can cuddle and you can tell me all your problems
I would be annoyed too if I was barred from something because of something I couldn't control or wasn't aware of
So you must have played a comp which you abandoned and got 30 minutes ban, then gone in another comp and abandon that to recieve a 2 hour ban, then play yet another comp and abandon that aswell and get a 24 hour ban, and then finally you go into another comp and your connection fails for almost 5 minutes and you get a 7 day ban. All within two weeks.
Ok, my bro could have played it before and got me bans earlier (and not tell).
Well, I guess you'll have to take it up with him, then.
7 day CSGO cooldown because of a fucking bro
There's one thing I do have to agree with about Valve's CSGO cooldown policy. If you experienced connectivity / stability issues in a matchmaking game, all you can do is sit and wait out that ban. [T]http://puu.sh/8XD0L.png[/T] Personally I don't think this is very helpful, only to solve your problems but not the ban.
I think anyone experiencing technical problems on their part justifiably deserves the ban because that's a problem the player can fix. There's so many times where I've played games with people who would do say things like, "Sorry, game crashed, coming back in" then "Sorry, computer turned off, coming back in," then, 'Sorry, internet's down, coming back in." Maybe it's more important to fix your damn computer than play the game and screw up the team balance for everyone else, man. Valve does have a history of games being a bit unstable, though, so I don't want to make a blanket statement saying it's always the player's fault.

So if your PC crashes, or your internet keeps failing. I would check that before playing MM. 7 days without MM isn't a big deal, go play casual, another game, eat food, brush your teeth or even better, go outside and get some pussy.
why does the cooldown even exist anyway
why does the cooldown even exist anyway
Because comp is srs biz
why does the cooldown even exist anyway
a deterrent from being a teamkilling shitter or leaving your teammates to lose obviously; what other system would you suggest would work better?
7 days is still overkill.
why does the cooldown even exist anyway
without it, if people lost the pistol people would leave leaving it a 3v5 and people would slowly leave
Actually you'll still be left with bots.
Actually you'll still be left with bots. More respawns (control bot) yeey...
Actually bots fucking suck and die all the times so you've actually got jack shit because Valve doesn't think scaling bot difficulty based on skill level is a smart idea.
At least you don't have the server crashing on you and causing everyone in the game to get a big fat LOSS/ABANDON on their list.
Should also point out that they have to still enforce the abandon rules for disconnects caused by crashes or loss of network connectivity otherwise people would pull out their Ethernet cables or turn off their wifi etc. to be able to abandon games without getting punished. 7 days is harsh, but that's for a fourth offence, after all. Perhaps you should not leave your Steam account logged in where your brother can get you in trouble.
But what if you have real life to deal with? Why punish people for having a life?
