[b]What is Mortal Kombat?[/b]
Mortal Kombat is a popular series of fighting games created by Midway (currently known as NetherRealm Studios), which in turn spawned a number of related media. It is especially noted for its digitized sprites (which differentiated it from its contemporaries' hand-drawn sprites), and its mix of bloody and brutal action; its graphic Fatality killing moves contributed to the founding of the ESRB.

[b]What is Mortal Kombat X?[/b]
Mortal Kombat X is an upcoming fighting video game currently in development by NetherRealm Studios. It is the tenth main title in the Mortal Kombat series, with a release scheduled for April 14, 2015. The game is being developed for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and is expected to be ported to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 by another developer.

[b]What is the plot?[/b]
The game is said to include a new, original and non-linear storyline "showcasing some of the game's most prolific characters including Scorpion and Sub-Zero, while introducing new challengers that represent the forces of good and evil and tie the tale together." At E3 2014, it was confirmed that the story would begin at the end of the previous game and then eventually transition to twenty-five years into the future, placing emphasis on aged veterans, new characters and the next-generation offspring of the previous fighters.

The only one I can think of is the Super Fighting Game Megathread, but that thread doesn't mention Mortal Kombat at all.

Everyone buy the MKX comic. MKX is set over a span of 25 years and the comic takes place in between parts that are covered in-game and so far seems pretty important.
It's a digital comic that comes out every Sunday. They also release physical issues which collect the digital releases. The first physical issue came out this week, which has issue #1,#2 and the unreleased #3 of the digital series.

Both cyborgs had been hinted before by Ed Boon, but maybe it means nothing (remember: he IS a troll, not all his twitts are pure gold)
Im still waiting for Ermac and Smoke, they would fit perfect in this game.

I think they realized that everyone used the MK1 scorpion (and sub zero, from my experience) costume more than the default and alternative outfits on EVERYTHING (MP, Ladder, etc.), thats why its more old school

The thing is, Johnny Cage is the man, and I doubt Cassie could possibly be as ridiculously stupid and awesome as Johnny. I want to see Johnny as an aging action star who can still kick ass.

Johnny is definitely in-game in some form, since he supposedly leads the special forces Kenshi and his son are part of. Sonya on the other hand is unknown. Considering it's Johnny leading and not Sonya I'm guessing she's dies after Cassie is born and Johnny takes up leadership.
Take casting sheet with a hint of salt because it hasn't been confirmed yet, but it lines up well with the comic so far.
Here's a leaked casting call for the LA series which mentions Johnny. It also kinda makes it seem like Kenshi and his son might be one character with 2 skins since they have similar attributes.

And to add to all that Casper Van Dien(The guy who plays Johnny is S2 of MK:Legacy) just put this up on FB. Considering the MKX LA series is being done by the MK:Legacy guys it's pretty easy to assume MK3 is meant to be the MKX tie-in, not MK: Legacy and they're just reusing some actors they thought fit well. That and the guy makes a pretty good old Johnny Cage.

Also there's a stream confirmed for the end for the month which'll hopefully have another reveal.

I really like the look of the fluidity of the past gameplay we've seen, it looks so buttery smooth which I already liked about MK9. I just hope Mileena makes it back in, she's my favorite character to play as well as being a series staple. If not, Skarlet would do just fine, she was too fun and bloody (ha) brilliant of a character to debut and die off in the same game.

As to which Sub-Zero it is that's in-game, I'm pretty sure it's Bi-Han/Noob Saibot or someone new. Kuai Liang appeared in the comic in his MK3 costume and getting his scar and the MKX Sub-Zero has also been spotted in-costume.
