Brawlhalla is a Smash Bros clone for PC. It's currently in closed beta, but it's already really polished and playable. Here's a First Look by MMOBomb:

Keep in mind this video is 7 months old. The game is updated very regularly so lots of things have changed. A 'stance' mode to change stats, a 1v1 ranked option and more legends and maps have been added for instance. All the heavy attacks have been changed as well.
This game is in closed beta. It will be free to play on launch, with either a Dota 2 (cosmetics shop) or a LoL (ability to purchase legends) style transaction system. The game differs from Smash Bros in that it uses a weapon system. Every legends has two set weapons (pistols, a hammer, an axe etc) which they need to pick up on the battlefield.
It also has full controller support.
This game has a relatively small playerbase. The online is populated enough to play, but there's not enough people posting feedback. If you notice any issues, contact the dev or open a thread on the Steam hub!

Played this for the last couple of days since it's on Steam and free. It basically is Smash Brothers, but with character specific weapons instead of wacky ones anyone can use. It's pretty good and solid, lag free, animations are really well done
Not too much in the way of character identity other than appearance, though. The only difference is their movesets when they pick up their weapons. Some are shared, and some characters really have kick ass shit that does differentiate themselves. You get a set number of characters that I think rotate out, and you earn gold in-game to unlock ones you like permanently (Which you can test before you buy). The premium currency you buy for real money unlocks skins and different appearances for weapons (Which can be used with any character) and the characters themselves, much like League of Legends.
The video in the OP is 7 months old from when the OP's post was made. It's nothing like the video. It's 2D Smash Brothers and it's fantastic, and the 1v1v1v1 is frantic as dicks. There's also 22 characters to choose from, and not the 10 or so from the closed beta videos you see around, all with different colors to pick from, skins to buy, and all that shit

Just look at how awesome those animations are. Some are really good, too, like Hattori's heavy attacks. They're just fun to watch and it feels so good when they connect
