I chose a random quote for the subtitle. Welcome to the Borderlands Megathread, Version 3! As time goes on I'll be updating the thread with new information. At this point in time, it's still incomplete so have patience while I flood this post with images and text that most people will ignore.
Lock, Load, & Face the Madness Get ready for the mind blowing insanity! Play as one of four trigger-happy mercenaries and take out everything that stands in your way! With its addictive action, frantic first-person shooter combat, massive arsenal of weaponry, RPG elements and four-player co-op*, Borderlands is a breakthrough experience that challenges all the conventions of modern shooters. Borderlands places you in the role of a mercenary on the lawless and desolate planet of Pandora, hell-bent on finding a legendary stockpile of powerful alien technology known as The Vault. An ex-Crimson Lance soldier. Armed with a stolen Scorpio Turret, which will fire upon enemies and provides a shield for cover. This turret can be expanded for usefulness in many situations, such as healing allies and firing missiles. One of six powerful Sirens, women with superhuman abilities. Can enter phasewalk, where she becomes invisible and immune to damage for a short period, allowing for quick assassinations of even the most powerful enemies. An expert sniper with a cool-ass bird named Bloodwing (that's also the species). He can command his bird to attack enemies, dealing a ton of damage before returning to Mordecai. Dog-loving mass of muscle. Punches stuff expertly, and regenerates his health while doing so.

A new era of shoot and loot is about to begin. Play as one of four new vault hunters facing off against a massive new world of creatures, psychos and the evil mastermind, Handsome Jack. Make new friends, arm them with a bazillion weapons and fight alongside them in 4 player co-op on a relentless quest for revenge and redemption across the undiscovered and unpredictable living planet. A former Dahl mercenary that came to Pandora after being discharged. He brought with him a Dahl Sabre Turret, a large burst fire sentry gun with full rotation - upgradable to stick to surfaces or have a shield or even explode as a nuke. Pandoran native, big fan of killing and guns. What he lacks in size he makes up for in the ability to dual wield any two weapons. Sniper rifles, rocket launchers, pistols and assault rifles. Doesn't matter, he's got a strong grip. Another powerul Siren, raised as a religious idol and an object as fear. Upset with that life, she fled to Pandora to investigate her origins as a Siren. Can Phaselock enemies, lifting them into the air and freezing them in place. Mysterious assassin, speaks in haiku and has a sword. Can turn invisible to sneak up behind enemies, before slicing them up. Also a pretty good sniper. Escaped to Pandora after her robot caused a bully to explode. Can digitally construct her creation, Deathtrap, which will fight along side her. Can also sacrifice accuracy for damage using anarchy. DLC character. Mercenary-turned-psychotic murderer thanks to Hyperion's slag experimentation. Can enter a rampage using his handy Buzzaxe, which is basically a circular saw on a stick. Also suicide bombs, homing fire balls, and a lot of other weird stuff. DLC character.

Discover the story behind Borderlands 2 villain, Handsome Jack, and his rise to power. Taking place between the original Borderlands and Borderlands 2, the Pre-Sequel gives you a whole lotta new gameplay featuring the genre blending fusion of shooter and RPG mechanics that players have come to love. Float through the air with each low gravity jump while taking enemies down from above using new ice and laser weapons. Catch-a-ride and explore the lunar landscape with new vehicles allowing for more levels of destructive mayhem. Ex-Crimson Lance Omega Assassin and issuer of the final blow to the Atlas Corporation. Armed with a Kinetic Aspis, a shield that absorbs all damage before the user throws it out to deal that damage back. An annoying Hyperion robot and an icon of the series. Modified by Jack, Claptrap can activate VaultHunter.EXE to access a seemingly random "Action Package" based on other Vault Hunters of Borderlands future. The truly cruel Sheriff of Lynchwood in her early days. Hates dogs. Basically the best crackshot ever, as she can automatically aim at enemies. It's like aimbotting. A very expensive and very effective mercenary who wants to be a robot really badly. Shoulder cannons, power fists, robot legs. And Wolf and Saint, two surveyors that attack enemies while supporting him. Not the real Jack, this Jack is a body double - originally a student with really big bills. Can summon a squad of digital Jacks that attack enemies. He also has wrist lasers. DLC character. Older sister of Sir Hammerlock, Aurelia is a hoverbike-riding huntress who joins the fight on Elpis because she's bored. Focuses on sniping, and can throw out an ice crystal that damages enemies. Can also enslave other players.

Tales from the Borderlands is a five-part episodic game series from the creators of The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series. Set on the unforgiving world of Pandora after the events seen in Borderlands 2, this is a story full of Borderlands’ trademark humor, following two adventurers on their quest for greatness. Hyperion worker on Helios who sees an opportunity to move up the ranks - only to be screwed over by a co-worker named Vasquez. He then hatches a plan to get back at Vasquez, bringing him to the surface of Pandora and starting his adventure. Pandoran native and expert con artist. With the help of her father-figure Felix, she and her sister work together in a plan to change their lives forever in one giant con.
Bring on the Re-Make! [sp]And don't screw up[/sp]
I created a Psycho and I'm dreading going through the story again.
I created a Psycho and I'm dreading going through the story again.
Krieg's the most fun to play character IMO.
He's fun but after going through the story so many times it gets tough to start new characters
Main probablem with games that have same story and different classes to choose from - if I want to try out other classes I have to go through the same story over and over again

Is the remake even true? I know it was found in a listing somewhere and if it's true I will be getting it, my friend says if it's true he doesn't wanna do it all over again... you serious I mean really? I haven't played bl1 that much and a remake sounds amazing.

There are quite a few spots where I got drops in framerate, for it being a 5 year old game while barely getting any framedrop in bl2. A proper FOV slider would be nice, too.

Both my favorite characters, though Krieg is just the best.
I'd place Mr Torgue above Tiny Tina.
I agree completely with Claptrap and Krieg; Tina is great too but I think Torgue is better.
Filthy plebs. Everybody knows that Sarcastic Slab is the best character.
Torgue is the best Borderlands character. I heard he fought Cell and won.
I heard he cut his way out of primate hell.
I heard he cut his way out of primate hell.
Some say he wrestled a Tiger Shark wearing a Bolo Tie.
Some say he wrestled a Tiger Shark wearing a Bolo Tie.
They also say he fought a sentient piece of Skag Jerky with a bonesaw.

TellTale announced the second episode of Game of Thrones, which means they're likely going to announce the second episode of Tales soon. And look at that, PAX South is this weekend. And Gearbox is there. And they're announcing something every day. Also I don't feel like I'm done with the OP, but at the same time I don't know what else to add without it being cluttered. Tips?
Just bought Tales From The Borderlands for £10 from the Playstation Store. Should be fun.
[t]https://downloads.2kgames.com/borderlandsthegame/img/news/lady_hammerlock_key_art.jpg[/t]
Ever wondered if your favorite researcher, Sir Hammerlock, had a sibling? Well he does, and she’s the older sister that every little brother is terrified of. Lady Aurelia the Baroness is the newest playable character coming to Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel as a downloadable add-on. Starting on January 27, 2015, you’ll be able to pick up the Lady Hammerlock Pack on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Steam. Aurelia is the heir of the Hammerlock family fortune, but when she's not riding her hoverbike through the endless hallways of her orbital turbomansion, she's out hunting the latest and greatest game in the galaxy. If these expeditions should put her in conflict with her younger brother Alistair – aka Sir Hammerlock – all the better. The only thing more fun than shooting a rare animal Alistair intended to study is the look of abject horror and surprise on his face once Aurelia wears its carcass like a jaunty scarf. Normally, Lady Hammerlock would never be seen within a light year of Pandora, but she's grown bored as her turbomansion grows cold, while her lust for violence grows hot. She's headed to Elpis with nothing more than an expensive gun, an experimental Cryo diadem, and a powerful belief that shooting angry things in the face is a good deal of fun. Like every playable character in Borderlands, Aurelia has an action skill and three different skill trees. Her action skill is Cold As Ice, which lets her throw out a Frost Diadem Shard that seeks out enemies and attaches to them, dealing constant damage. If that target dies, the shard will move onto a new enemy, and so on.
[t]https://downloads.2kgames.com/borderlandsthegame/img/news/lady_hammerlock_wintertide.jpg[/t]
Her three skills trees are Huntress, Cold Money, and Contractual Aristocracy. Her Huntress skill tree focuses on sniping, including a skill that offers a massive critical hit bonus for each consecutive hit she lands without missing. Her other skill tree, Cold Money, focuses on ice damage and includes a skill that can add Cryo damage to any gun. Her third skill tree is Contractual Aristocracy, which allows her to turn a co-op teammate into a servant, earning her bonuses for their kills in addition to her own. We’ll have much more info on just how badass Aurelia is in the weeks ahead, so keep an eye out for a deep dive on her skills.
Source. Her skill sounds a lot like Bloodwing.
DoT bloodwing (feat. ice) So since every leak has been correct so far, I guess it's safe to assume the massive five gigabyte DLC thing is totally happening.
The article also mentions some details about the final DLC, involving going into the mind of Claptrap. EDIT: Also, a patch will be released to make all of the bosses respawnable, meaning that a true endgame is coming.
Trailer for Aurelia is out. [editline]27th January 2015[/editline] Also patch notes. https://gearboxsoftware.zendesk.com/entries/57683810-PC-Update-Hot-Fix-Information
Adds support for upcoming downloadable content. Users will no longer become stuck on the “Loading Character” screen when joining a game where the host has different DLC. The Doppelganger’s VO will now play in the mission “No Such Thing as a Free Launch”. Addresses a rare issue where joining a game while the host is in the main menu could cause a crash. Jack will no longer spawn in the wrong place if the player saves and quits during “Lost Legion Invasion”. Players will no longer receive an erroneous status window when accepting a game invitation from a host who’s network options are set to “online invite only”. Fixed an issue where some enemy name text would be cut off when playing as Wilhelm in certain languages. Fixed a rare issue where the player’s shield could instantly recharge when fighting certain enemies. Players can no longer donate mission weapons in the mission “To Arms”. Players will no longer be knocked back when receiving damage from friendly sources. Ensured that the objective “Find Davis Pickle” will be dismissed when completed in the mission “Intelligences of the Artificial Persuasion”. The Doppelganger’s “Winning” skill will now properly refill his shields upon every kill while active. Permanent Hot Fixes January 27, 2015 Lost Legion Sergeants have improved navigation in the Holodome mission “Digistructed Madness: Round 4”. Jump jet sound effects will no longer loop endlessly for clients in the Holodome. Digijack audio will no longer loop for clients. Players will no longer become stuck on the “Get a Stingray” objective during the “Intelligences of the Artificial Persuasion” mission. Tork Dredgers will no longer be as generous when handing out Bonus Packages. Rebalanced the Big Thumprr and Shooting Star legendary shields. Claptrap will no longer lose the bonuses applied from the ‘Wax Off, Wax On’ and ‘Organized Guns are Happy Guns’ skills after exiting a vehicle. 3DD1.E Oz Kit and Prismatic Bulwark Shield now provide the correct damage bonus to laser weapons. Celestial Lawbringer Class Mod now provides the correct damage bonus to “Quickshot”. Claptrap will now receive the proper subroutine damage bonuses from his ‘Tripleclocked’ skill. Players will no longer receive common (white) rewards for "Digistructed Madness" missions.

Specifically, when the update is applied, putting three items of purple rarity into the Grinder has the potential to cause a crash. The team is hard at work at addressing this issue as quickly as possible -- until then, we recommend players use the Grinder at their own risk. Should players not wish to receive this update, which is required to play online and access the Lady Hammerlock Pack, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 players should not accept the update when prompted to download while Steam players can put Steam into Offline Mode. We'll share more information on the resolution to this issue as soon as we have it confirmed -- keep an eye on the Knowledge Base article here for the latest. Regarding the DLC for Borderlands 1 and 2, are they required for me to understand the next game in the series? I played 1 and 2 but never the DLC, and I am not fond of buying DLC unless it adds onto the story.
i think there are some points here and there that they reference events in DLC (like general knoxx) but i dont think they matter all that much
Seeing as the final campaign DLC is going to be set in the mind of Claptrap, I think we're going to visit Claptrap's memories rather than his psyche. It would be interesting to follow Claptrap after the first four Vault Hunters arrive in Fyrestone and leave to find the Vault, while the four who entered his mind would help Claptrap on his own adventure.
Tales from the Borderlands episode two is going to be announced soon. They showed some screenshots and a short clip at PAX. [sp]Athena, Springs, and Scooter confirmed[/sp]
