There are a few important things I need to say before you crack into my insanely sweet game. (Oof. Here we go again.) I'm a mercenary with an accelerated healing factor. I've been described as unstable, which is just plain coo-coo. (Wait, do sane people say coo-coo?) I'm gonna battle for the safety of humans and mutants. (And even mumans.) Be prepared for just about anything. (Holla!)
I made sure to capture all my good sides, so I made my game a third-person action-shooter. (Yep, you get to look at my heinie.)
Keep a look out cuz some of my X-Men pals (Whoa, what pals?!) are making an appearance. (Hope you don't mind picking hair out of your tacos.)
I'm really good at killing, so I made it a blast stringing together combos, and totally eviscerating my enemies. (Ev-is-cer-a-ting!)
I brought my skills and a buttload of my favorite things. Katanas (check), guns (bang!) explosives (boom), duct tape (quack) and of course, yours truly - ME! (Checkmate!)
I played for all of a week but the UI was just painful to me.
I'm planning on playing it some more but when I made my account when the game was announced I named it "moot" which is stupid. I made a new account as venomousbeetle then realized I had shit on the moot one and it turns out name changes are like $10 paid currency
I still need to ask support if they're gonna let me just delete the second acc and change the first or swap them for the same price or if they're gonna make me spend $20 in ingame currency
[editline]31st July 2016[/editline]
Can't wait for next steam sale I pray that MUA is fixed with DLC by then and at 50% discount, probably gonna be shit like 20% but it'd be nice if it was 50% so it'd be easier to get players
Anyone ever heard of X2: Wolverines Revenge?
Anyone ever heard of X2: Wolverines Revenge?
The one with Mark Hamill playing Wolverine?
I've heard only that tidbit about it.
I played for all of a week but the UI was just painful to me.
Was that recently? they changed a lot of stuff a few patches back.
Probably a month or so ago.
Is anyone buying Batman's telltale series? I'm thinking about it
apparently there's also a new feature where you can twitch stream and have people vote on which choice to make, we could do facepunch plays batman
I heard about that game before. Sounds interesting specially with all the detective related stuff that has to do with Batman.
I haven't really played any Telltale games thought besides Poker Night. Was thinking about buying their Sam & Max games some time ago but kinda gave up on the idea.
I'll give it a shot definitely but I really hope it isn't too tied down. The Bruce Wayne stuff is really interesting but with most creators they end up forgetting about it after like Y2 of Batman.
That and the Y1/grounded setting is starting to get a bit overplayed IMO with Gotham, Arkham Origins and Batman Begins/Nolan films.
If anything I think would have liked a Robin PoV Telltale game where you have to deal with being a hero as well as helping your father figure/mentor not go over the edge and set it at maybe Y3. Something that isn't just another gang war/Two-Face origin story.
Only thing I'm concerned about is I don't really care about "Bruce Wayne outside of the costume" but maybe keeping up the charade will be fun now that it's not a walk around game
Edit:
I guess what I'm trying to say is I kind of find Bruce Wayne when he's not Batman kind of boring and I'm uncertain about focusing on it, but hopefully he'll be interesting, this is a good opportunity to make him moreso.

I wonder if the untitled marvel telltale project is gonna be this same concept but Iron Man

If the rumored MGU is going to be a thing now and the Telltale project is part of it then I expect it'll maybe be Daredevil or Jessica Jones, character that are grounded enough that they can be story focused with occasional action(although Daredevil is prime for an Arkham-esque game). Iron Man has too much gameplay potential to waste on a Telltale game IMO, they just need the right devs.
Wait there's a marvel game universe rumored? That actually sounds kind of like a bad idea.
Consistent continuity works in movies and fiction but it only serves to ground potential games, their stories, characters, their content and features
[editline]1st August 2016[/editline]
Hell even the films can get conflict with how they all effect each other, but with a game something like "oh so and so died in x game so they can't be used for this game" and other such things would bring the whole game down imo
Edit:
plus comic books already have branched into a million continuities because of this
[editline]1st August 2016[/editline]
It'd also greatly effect the freedom of player's actions, it'd become a serious headache to make a telltale game work in that environment given how they're about choices.
It'd also likely cause a lot of games to be like assassins creed where deviating from the singular thing you're supposed to do is punished
There's no solid evidence but when Spider-Man PS4 was announced the new head of Marvel games said stuff that some people interpreted as maybe something like an MGU but everything he said was pretty typical brand speak about Marvel Gaming being its own thing and not much else.

"so and so died" doesn't really apply for comic characters.
Batman and Superman have died how many times?
Agreed. I think so many people have been caught up in the whole franchise universe concept that its blinding people on the fact that self contained works are still a lot more flexible and allow for a lot more freedom when creating a story and in-particular gameplay when it comes to games. References and Easter Eggs are always nice but they should never be a reason to block storytelling decisions.
They're both valid ways of creating a universe but I'd like a break from it.
Muh merge

As far as I'm aware batman and superman haven't even lived in the MCU so I don't think they would be dying and undying in the MGU

It was an example of how characters die and resurrect all the time.
Man, I used to play the shit out of Champions Online. Anyone still playing it?
Also, am I the only one who actually liked that weird X-Men Destiny game for the 360 and PS3?
Spider-Man 2 on consoles were the greatest on PC.. Well, not so much.
But if there's one game that got Spider-Man right in video game territory it was definitely the Spider Man 2 console version.

I used to play Champions Online all the time, it was one of my first few MMOs. I was surprised to see it's still online. I might give it a go again sometime, I loved the customization.

I still maintain the Spider-man (2000) game made for PS1/N64/PC is probably the best all time example of a Spider-man game

I was a huge fan of those Spider-Man games that were on N64 and PS1, they haven't aged well but they were a shit ton of fun back then. That Doctor Octopus - Carnage hybrid was terrifying.
That Doctor Octopus - Carnage hybrid was terrifying.
That thing ruined me as a kid. Heck, the whole last act of the game, with symbiotes taking over portions of the city, was just more than I went in expecting. Amazed that never made it into a book storyline
It says monster ock is GAME EXCLUSIVE in his bio so I guess they had some integrity on that promise, wish he was though
[editline]2nd August 2016[/editline]
Also I used a humble coupon on MUA bundle and they have fixed the audio issue in mua2
Web of Shadows kinda does takes that symbiote part of the old PS1 games and pumps up to eleven. Now that I think about it's kinda weird that Dock Ock wasn't in that game. Well, at least we had symbiote Wolverine and Electro.
Anyone think someone will re-release the Punisher game from the 2000s, uncendored too? It's the only decent Punisher game I can think of
I love venom-ifying characters
I bet monster ock wasn't in WoS because Carnage isn't iirc and there wasn't much reason to include Ock in the story anyway.
Spider-man Friend or Foe was probably my favorite psp game when I had one. You could team up with and play as a ton of villains/sidekicks and they were all using Raimi designs. Psp version even had carnage.

I hope so. I'm not sure where the rights stand for it. Maybe they could make major changes and make it Bernthal? Is volition deep silver's bitch rn or do they just own Saints Row? A new volition punisher game would be great
[editline]2nd August 2016[/editline]
There was also a short lived punisher FPS on PS3 but it's taken down much like MUA DLC was, and being a console download exclusive it's basically gone forever. I have the demo saved to my account but it's demo was multiplayer only. You'd have to borrow an account that bought it back then to get it, and I've not found anyone.
For anyone playing Marvel Heroes, the big patch dropped today, including the Main hub remake, Dynamic Combat Level overhaul, and complete blessing reworks
Here's hoping support gets back to me about names soon, any new characters or other non-QoL additions?
