These guys know how to present a product, that at least guarantees basic competence. Let's see how this turns out. Not hyped just yet but curious as hell.
has a lot of potential but we've got too many games like this to really call it impressive unless they bring something entirely new to the table other than fleshed out editing tools
According to the dev interviews they plan on really fleshing out the survival and progression compared to other games. I'll try and find it
Looks very promising; apparently they're trying to implement mod support, too. I wonder if they're using the SE api, since that's open source now.

Heres a recent interview, they talk about game mechanics and the kickstarter, coming soon™.
Kickstarter campaign is now live! Now with an new load of cool moving images. I can't find any info about this on their site, will this game have deformable terrain?
I recall them talking about it in a video, they said you can level mountains, dig quarries etc. They also said "If you bury your car and travel east, you will eventually come from the west and you car will still be there a long time later" or something like that
The only thing that will instantly sell this game to me at this point is having a damage/deformation system on par or better than space engineers.
The only thing that will instantly sell this game to me at this point is having a damage/deformation system on par or better than space engineers.
They have structural tension, if your buggy lands too hard it can split in half, I want to know about deformation though aswell
I pledged the 14 bucks for early access since that's pretty cheap to me and I've got money to burn. Space Engineers looked good to me but I'm much more interested on this if they're going to be focusing on survival.
Looks good but I don't know if I want to rebuy space engineers but with better aesthetics and a focus on planet survival
LSG just did a video on it, talks about block types and their possible uses.
Just realized I didnt post it here. There's a building competition going on, make a land base and share it to either their facebook or twitter and you can win goodies from the KS. Here's the url with the rules and details: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.752885271512635.1073741837.632413090226521
New video on character customization
This looks cool a.f, like Space Engineers but with a point to it beyond building things for the sake of building better to help you build better things. The spiders and cyberdogs are more of an annoyance than a challenge or compelling threat, and pirate ships are still dumb as bricks. My hope for a game like this is that you'd be able to make your own AI-controlled vehicles (Not without a lot of effort however), and send them to go mine shit for you, explore, patrol a specified area etc
Im honestly kind of tired of lego-block style sandbox games. Something more freeform would be nice, sort of like garrys mod where you can put stuff wherever you like, and intersect things at will.
This would only interest me if the survival mode doesn't include god-awful grinding in the form of sitting and welding each and every single block to create your stuff. It becomes a real pain in the ass in Space Engineers when you want to start building large things, cause you gotta do it all by hand. Even making a little building ship to weld parts for you, it still takes too long.
Kotaku did an article on this. http://www.kotaku.co.uk/2016/02/05/a-ridiculously-comprehensive-survival-game
While the long wait for No Man's Sky continues you may be looking around see what other games offer the same thrill of exploring an alien world. Planet Nomads looks like it might just fit the bill. The game opens with you crash-landing on an alien world and getting thrown from the wreck of your spaceship. The world you've discovered is uncolonised, its wildlife is dangerous, and its weather is harsh. It's on you to salvage what you can from your ship and the environment to keep yourself in surplus of oxygen, water, and food. A weapon or two would be nice considering the planet's wildlife:
I hope they hit their goal on kickstarter. It's looking like they aren't going to make it but after initially slamming this game as a rip-off, it looks like it could be really damn good if the gameplay is anything close to what they showed off in the announcement trailer.
Just passed it's KS goal, aparrently it was featured in a newsletter sent out by kickstarter. It's happening! [editline]12th February 2016[/editline] This twitter account is a fucking goldmine
Woo! Space flight!
It's a shame the orbit flight gameplay probably won't be included for a while, i was hoping it would at least reach the stretch goal for that but it doesn't seem too likely.
It's a shame the orbit flight gameplay probably won't be included for a while, i was hoping it would at least reach the stretch goal for that but it doesn't seem too likely.
They're still going to keep adding features regardless of met stretch goals, they mentioned that in a kickstarter update. So it'll definitely be added eventually.
And the KS is over, they made this really nice little thank you video. Pre-orders are now open too: https://www.planet-nomads.com/preorder/

Blog post on the closed alpha, what to expect, etc... https://www.planet-nomads.com/2016/03/03/closed-alpha-features/
Another blog post out! https://www.planet-nomads.com/2016/03/the-animation-story-from-3ds-max-to-blender-to-first-moves/ This time talking about animals, modelling and all that. Also an animal animation reel.
