• Phase Wing - A Facepuncher makes a Shmup

Last year I teamed up with some friends from uni and started working on making games. This year I've started working on a shmup called Phase Wing, which we plan to release for iOS, Android and (eventually) steam. [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/8863oIA.png[/thumb][thumb]http://i.imgur.com/8sPku0Q.png[/thumb] The game is intended to be a more approachable bullet hell styled shmup, which is still forgiving enough to allow players who aren't touhou chamions to enjoy the genre, but still offer a challenge for people who wanna go the extra mile. (We aren't looking for iOS testers atm, sorry) I'll post updates and media as I work on stuff, I've basically finished putting together the features of the game this week, so I'll be working on content (new bosses etc.) over the next few weeks. Well this seems fairly cool, I'm gonna hazard a guess and say the little cockpit is the plane's actual hitbox, right? Why on mobile devices to start with though? They're not exactly well suited for quick reactions or fine controls.

We're going mobile because the original concept was to try and use the mobile interface in a new way, and we figured 'what if there was a shmup where your finger was the plane, so taking your finger off the screen makes you phase out of existence' and it kinda went on from there. The mechanics work on PC though, so we'll be porting to there eventually too (I personally think it'll probably be better received on PC, but hey) [editline]31st March 2016[/editline] Also you'd be surprised, shmups don't require as many quick reactions as you'd think (but input delay is a painful concern)
