Cyberpunk 2077 is a RPG announced in 2012, based on the Cyberpunk series of pen-and-paper games. The game is being produced by CD Projekt Red, developers of The Witcher series. Cyberpunk will feature a decadent futuristic world in which ultra-modern technology co-exists with a degenerated human society. The game aims to be a mature, ambitious title with character customization being strongly tied to the plot. It will have a non-linear story with different character classes.

Fuck yes, finally an RPG I can look forward to. Never really could get into fantasy RPGs, but damn, I do love sci-fi and cyberpunk RPGs.
The Witcher 2 was probably my favorite game last year, and I'm certain CD Projekt will pull this off just as well, if not better.
Cyberpunk as an art style gives me a stiffy, so I'll be sure to keep an eye on this. Thanks OP.
CP Projekt is the best company ever. Sorry, Valve.

Actually no. Sorry CD Projekt.
Valve and CD Projekt are the best.
This will be incredible if they keep their promises.
And dat concept art.
The best part about CD Projekt Red is that they make mature games with mature themes. None of that good vs. evil shit, only choices and consequences.
No matter how great games CD Projekt makes, gaming in Poland is still treated like shit by mass media, especially television. When there was European Game Festival in Cracow few days ago, those idiots turned a reportage from it into bitching about addiction and brutality in games. They even used The Witcher 2 to show how bloody can games be, as if the books that The Witcher games based on weren't full of mature content.
I love the whole cyberppunk/Futuristic genre, the original Syndicate is one of my favorite games of all time.
I've noticed CD Projekt Red make rather bland sounding titles, but oh god do they make good games. I'll be watching out for this one.

To be fair, it's based on an established IP.
By the way, the more I think about this, the more excited I get. I fucking love CD Projekt, and I fucking love cyberpunk. (The theme. Never really investigated the RPG.) This is like the best gaming news all year.
That and if memory serves right CD Projekt Red is against DRM, The Witcher games were DRM free weren't they?

Yeah, they're actually the people behind GOG, which only sells games without any DLC. S'pretty fantastic.
Holy hell. A cyberpunk RPG? Made by CDP Red?
Take all of my money.
Am I the only one who thinks Cyberpunk Style is shit?
CD Projekt Red?
ALL OF MY MONEY.
RIGHT NOW.
I have yet to play a bad game from them.
I have yet to play a game from them that isn't utterly fucking amazing.
Let's hope the combat doesn't suck.
They should just go with that bounty hunter sci-fi rpg that was discontinued (forgot its title).

Prey 2 it is.

I had a lot of respect for those guys to begin with, but they're behind GOG too? I fucking love these guys now :v:
Shit, just read up on the TRPG system. That sounds baller as well.
Looking forward to this.
I bet the final product will not be simply called "Cyberpunk" (maybe Cyberpunk something something as the original pen and paper game).
And yeah, take my fucking money.
I never really played The Witcher, mainly because of a combination of having way too many other games i wanted to play, and because the combat system seemed like ass from what little i heard.
I am glad that the RPG will be mature and brutal. I kind of miss that a lot, a tons of RPGs have adapted a stylistic comic asthestics.

You're certainly not in the majority.

Why would you come into a thread about a game literally called cyberpunk if you don't like the entire style
For something which is apparently quite popular, I've never heard of Cyberpunk (the game, not the theme) before. Has anyone here played it?

I've wanted to play Cyberpunk 2020, but I've never been able to find a group of people to play with.

Nope, I don't really find it that interesting but it won't ruin the enjoyment of a good game.
YES PLEASE
