That's right, it's a fanmade Wipeout game that plays almost exactly like the classic wipeout games, physics, artstyle and all - And it's also free and has extensive mod support with custom ships, tracks, music and sounds. It's still a work in progress, but still holds up extremely well and is being constantly updated at a reasonable pace.
There's an unstable branch as well, where the dev tests out new features.
Oh yeah, you can import ships from Wipeout/Wipeout 2097/Wipeout 3 SE if you still have the discs for those knocking around.
And if classic wipeout physics aren't your thing, type "2280" into the main menu to change the game's physics to a perfect replication of Wipeout HD's physics, with it's own leaderboards.

Yeah this game just brings me back to when I played Wipeout 2097 on the PS1.
God, this game is so hard to control. I'm getting so frustrated over constantly smashing into walls or getting blown up by the other racers' weapons.
I love it.
I'm loving the [I]fuck[/I] out of this game, and I've put almost 50 hours into it, but I've got no good point of reference as far as skill goes. Everyone I see is either borderline perfect, or has a very close relationship with walls.
So from an outsider's opinion, am I actually good at this game, or am I just okay-ish like I think I am?
