This game just appeared on Greenlight. It's a physics puzzle game about building insane medieval machines to destroy your enemies and their castles or doing other tasks like moving giant iron ore boulders around. The block based building system is similar to games like Robocraft or Terratech. It's not out on Steam yet, but you can buy the Alpha using a Humble widget for just $7 from their website: http://www.besiege.spiderlinggames.co.uk/ The alpha seems to be very stable already. I've played for over an hour and haven't encountered a single glitch or crash. I'll just let the Greenlight page do the rest of the talking:
Besiege is a physics based building game in which you construct medieval siege engines and lay waste to immense fortresses and peaceful hamlets. Build a machine which can crush windmills, wipe out battalions of brave soldiers and transport valuable resources, defending your creation against cannons, archers and whatever else the desperate enemies have at their disposal. Create a trundling behemoth, or take clumsily to the skies, and cause carnage in fully destructible environments! Ultimately, you must conquer every Kingdom by crippling their castles and killing their men and livestock, in as creative or clinical a manner as possible. * Physics based building – if your machine can’t take the strain, it will buckle and splinter apart. * A broad array of building blocks to construct towering, ridiculous machines - or go for ruthless efficiency. Utilise flamethrowers, hinges, blades, pistons and much more. * Puzzle-centric campaign levels encouraging experimentation. Blaze your way through kingdom after kingdom planting red flags as you go. Eventually, each isle will be conquered. * Fully Destructible/flammable environments, with outposts, castles, farms and livestock to crush and combust (in slowmotion, too). * Hazards such as fire can either be your worst enemy or your greatest asset. It spreads in a deadly manner. * A sandbox level to test your machines and generally wreak havoc. About us Hello everyone, We are Spiderling, a small team based in the South of England comprised of two chaps – Marco Marino and Matt Woolven. We have been building Besiege for a year and a half now, using the Unity engine to bring its chaos to life. If you’d like, you can support us further by purchasing the alpha version of Besiege here: www.besiege.spiderlinggames.co.uk
Looks cool
That first gif was a pleasant surprise
Bought it. Looks insanely fun.
Looks interesting. Not gonna buy early access, but I'll keep an eye on it.
It's great fun, but I can't figure out how to make working catapults. I just make massive battering rams with metal overhead protectors and slice-and-dice everything. Can't take out fortifications though. I can't get my head around the hinges. Trying to put cables to contract and hold it in place don't work. Any tips?
Using a retractable spring is the best way of firing your catapult, I usualy have the back rest on a beam to prevent the bomb going off at the start.

I bet someone designed one of those in real life back in the day. The other guys were seriously impressed. Then after they made a prototype, they tied some horses to the front of it to pull it to the testing grounds and, well, that was the end of that experiment.
Fuck it, I just spent $11 at the store on a sandwhich and a drink an hour ago and those are both gone, $7 is nothing
I like the art style with the whole "Computer simulation" look.
My utterly terrible attempt at a long range siege weapon. Also ran it in slow motion because the behemoth was tanking my framerate. [vid]http://horobox.co.uk/u/Mislum_1421862646.webm[/vid] [editline]f[/editline] Whoops, looks like Dropbox didn't like my Webm usage. [editline]a[/editline] Rehosted.
One important lessons that KSP thought me is: Always use ridiculous amounts of struts/braces! Last mission I played my construction broke in half and was only held together by braces. It still worked perfectly.

this game has taught me that helicopters are very hard to make
Behold the ultimate Behemoth. It only has one flaw dont fire the cannons while you have a big bomb still ready to fire.
I'm gonna have so much fun once I can lay my hands on it. Don't have PayPal so no rekting for now
So who remembers this? I think these guys have a perfect opportunity here
Aww. I'm like 39 pence away from the cost. :suicide:
Sure I'll give you that mate added you on steam.
You are amazing! :v: <3
1/10 didn't damage the chickens. I run those fuckers over and turn them into chicken paste. V cute though
I wish I knew how to take videos but im to lazy.
Behold, the ultimate weapon of destruction! And anyone know why I'm getting choppy frames on my recording? Actual gameplay is fine. I'm using OBS.
Reminds me of something out of Looney Toons :v:
This game is too much fun.
Can we buy it on steam yet? I don't have a paypal or amazon account.
If I buy the alpha do I get the full game when it's released?
$7 really is the perfect price for this. It has been good fun.
all of my helicopter bomber attempts have ended in kamikaze, i love this game
I just noticed you can rebind controls for single blocks. I guess most of you already knew, but it took me over 2 hours to find out :v:
How the fuck? I was just having my dreams crushed by not having seperately bindable cannons [editline]20th January 2015[/editline] Also I just made this giant pylon thing that spins with blades on it, sadly it destroyed itself as soon as I started :v:
